Dikoda's POV
We finally inside the venue and boy was I surprised when I saw what my parents did for us. I linked my brother, "Bro are you seeing this, it is ridiculous mom and dad out did themselves this time." He replied, "Yo I am surprised and I am loving this can't wait to party and my wolf is getting on like damn."
As soon as we enter our parents excused themselves and headed to the stage which means they are going to do speeches and all that stuff. 'Why are parents so cliche, and embrassing it so uncalled for. SIGH' I thought to myself or at least I thought I did when I heard chuckling next to me. I laughed softly and turned my attention back to the stage. While listening to the lovely speeches of my beloved family, sweet savoring scents were hitting my nose from multiple different directions. All those scents I smelt in school were finally attacking me and showing itself as it should. When I looked to my left where my brother was, it seems the same thing is happening to him as well, I smiled and waited for everyone to finish talking so I can finally go search for those smells.
As the night goes on I keep getting and losing those lovely scents and it was driving me crazy. I looked for my best friends and found them and told them what was going on. "Guys this mates thing is driving me insane I can't even find their scents properly. Like what the fucks going on it's like we are playing hide and seek." That's when it hits me this is a masquerade ball and it is hide and seek and who is the best seeker in here. I excused myself and went about greeting everyone while still looking for my mates and also my other friends I gained recently.
I bounced into my brother and Baki and what I saw was not what I expected at all from my cool composure of a brother. He was sucking face with Baki and he was the one sitting on the lap damn, always thought he would be the top, well I guess not. That view made me chuckle, I then called out to my wolf, "Hey Alex, do you think we can find out mates, because seeing my bro having the time of his life just made me a tad bit jealous." Alex chuckled and replied, "Yeah we will and if you wanna make it even faster, let's head to the dance floor I am getting a sweet smell from there."
I nodded and went to the dance floor, the sweet smell of peaches mixed with peppermint and this time it stayed and when I found the person they were in an absolutely stunning attire which made it hard for me to tear my eyes away. They turned to me with a smile that was making my knees weak, they put their hand on my chest and leaned in to tell me something and what they said made me want to faint. They said, "It took you long enough to find me but I think you have to still look there might be more and don't worry I can't wait to fuck you all night." My little buddy so lucky I taped him down though it is aching right now its so happy at what she just said but the pain was getting to me making it feel like I need to faint.
I excused myself and went to the bathroom so I can deal with my little situation. Alex said, "Oh boy am I excited to just rip those clothes off right now, JEEZ what a tease we have there." I chuckled and fixed myself and headed back to where the party is, that's when the scent of lavender and honey hit me and when I found it another gorgeous being stood infront of me and caresses my chest and whispered to me, "You finally found me my darling." They pulled away and walked away but not without smirking at me.
Then she disappeared into the party crowd but I can still find her but damn this night is getting wilder and wilder. I went to the bar to get a drink because I needed it and I also needed to cool down from everything that is going on, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I sighed and looked up and it was my dad, who was smiling like he won the lottery and I smiled back.
My dad says, "Are you having fun, your mom and I really hope y'all love it." I nodded and took a drink because I was not really in a talking mood because I am so confused on what the fuck is going on. My dad catches that I am not really taking him on so he ask, "What's wrong my dear, you know you can talk to me about anything. I don't want you to not have fun on your night." I sighed and replied, "This mate thing is driving me crazy I am smelling so much different scents and I already found two and there are other scents I need to find but I am scared."
He chuckled and told me that everyone gets scared at the time when mates get involved because you do not want to disappoint them and you want to love and cherish them because they are you soul mate. I sighed and nodded and he smiled and patted my shoulder letting me know just with that gesture that everything is going to be ok. With that I was back on the hunt while still greeting all the people of the party who was sending birthday wishes my way and well of course I thanked them. I made my way to the dance floor so I can have fun at my party and forget about everything, sooner or later the other scents would come my way no more hide and seek.
