I was so happy! My dad was here! And even better he was going to live with us forever ! I knew this was a perfectly ever after, after all.

Me and my sister's RAN to the door. With huge smiles across our faces. From north to west. But instead it wasn't our dad....There was a picture of him but he wasn't there physically. The person holding the photo had a name tag that said detective kirk. Who was this man? And why does he have a photo of my dad? I thought to myself. Me and my sisters shut the door and went and told mom. She rushed to door  and was speaking with kirk. She had a worried look on her face.

"COME in." My mom said.
He walked in while taking off his puffy bright brown jacket.
"Hello girls. Are you Mr. Lyson's daughters?" He asked.
"Yes we are." Said my older sister. So everything alright?"
" hopefully. I'm detective kirk.Well your father took a plane to New York. He arrived and took a bus to go to the Bodega. We have footage of him entering but unfortunately he never came out. And he has been missing for several hours. We barley have cctv footage and were trying everything to find your dad." Said the detective.

My sister's started crying and were running all over the house worried. It was screaming tears. It was unlikely for my dad to not answer our calls and text. I can't lie I was acting out too. My daddy missing? Entered a Bodega and never came back? You probably would act the same way too. You know? My older sister had to take us to the police station to calm us down.

It's been eight hours. Nothing from dad. We went to the police station but we have to wait fourty eight hours, which is two days in order to file a missing person report. I was just thinking the worst things but I tried to stay strong for my sister's.

"It looks bad, really bad. But all we can do is hope.... one can only hope, " The detective said .

"Excuse me?? We will hope. How dare you say that. Are you even trying everything? How dare you say that nonsense. If he's found dead its YOUR death sentence. You have kids right? Look at my baby girls. That's their father who is VERY important to them. So you better FIND him alive and safe. And fix yourself because this isn't the time for nonsense." Exclaimed my mom. My mother wasn't playing. I kinda don't blame her because what he said was kind of wrong but at the same time what can you do.
Me and my sisters were just hoping everything was alright. Me, my mom, and my sisters all gathered in our living room to praise Jesus. Yes our dad was missing but we had to praise Jesus. Even through the good and bad. We played waymaker and something about the name Jesus. One of my favorite songs. And my mom fixed pasta but while on the phone, call to call. Looking for answers and informing people. The pasta was really good it gave me hope that our dad was okay.

The next day

It was the day before junior year. I was scared! My dad is missing and I have to go to school? How? How could I go to school with all this stuff going on. All the work, all the stress? Impossible .

My mom called us into her room for a family meeting. She said that their was a witness who saw that dad was shot. After that he ran because he was scared that he would get shot as well. That ruined me and my sisters whole mood. I lost hope at the point. My dad was SHOT? I had so many questions who? Where? How? When? My dad was SHOT and MISSING. This was probably the worst day of my life. My mom sent us to our aunts house. Because she knew it was hard for us.
She bought plane tickets and sent us back to Chicago. My oldest sister was watching us and was in charge because she's the oldest . Even though we're pretty much grown. We arrived at our aunts house. It was much needed. She helped us to be calm and to have hope. But whenever I facetimed my mom it just made me sad again. She's putting missing flyers everywhere. No one is answering. Where is the witness? Where is my dad!!

I forgot it was the day before junior year. Guess I'm going to miss a WHOLE week of my first week of school. I didn't care at the point. My dad is way more important than education. I'm glad I had more time at least. I was on Google searching articles by articles until I saw this article that says - witness of missing man at Bodega describes what the bloody scene was like...

BLOODY SCENE? Did this mean my dad was dead?-
