There’re shackles on my feet,
Shackles on my hands
I’ve put shackles on myself
Like everyone on this landSome were placed
Some I put
There’re shackles everywhere I lookMost are on the mind
Invisible to the eye
Shackles as large as rocks
To some as small as a ryeThere’re shackles on my feet,
Shackles on my hands
I’ve put shackles on myself
Like everyone on this landThough my eye looks to the sky
And my soul wishes to fly
There is a cage that I have made
Full of chains where I lieThere is ambition in my heart
A fight I wish to fight
But the weight of these chains
Have drained me of the lightThere’re shackles on my feet,
Shackles on my hands
I’ve put shackles on myself
Like everyone on this land
