A Dream of You, My Friend...

Her dream was quite vivid.

In an endless abyss of white she stood alone, floating in nothingness. Her nightgown was a beautiful cream color and her blonde hair flowed freely in the wind. It was peaceful. Until she heard a soft whisper.

"...Lucy..."

She turned around, only for her chocolate colored eyes to meet pure obsidian. His rosy hair swayed in the none existent wind. Tears welled in her eyes as she reached a hand out to touch his tanned skin. Her palm cupped his check, joy filling her at the warmth.

"....Natsu.....it's you. It's you! I've missed you...."

He did nothing though, just stared blankly at her before giving her a cheesy grin.

"Luce! I didn't recognize you for a second. Wait....why are you here?"

"I'm dreaming, I guess"

"Oh...well it's nice to see yah again!"

He took a step back before turning heel and walking away. Her heart constricted as he left the clearing.

"Wait! Natsu, where are you going? Don't leave!"

He looked over his shoulder, giving her his signature grin.

"Oi Lucy. I'll be back soon, I promise!"

"B-but your dead!"

His smile wavered, faltering as tears slipped down her cheeks.

"I'll see you soon"

"Natsu wait!!!"

Lucy shot up, clutching the blanket to her body as she gasped in mouthfuls of air. She could feel fresh tears still making their way down her porcelain cheeks and she brushed them away, staring down at her comforter. Blaze was curled up on the blanket next to her, purring in his sleep. His soft pinkish fur fluffed up as he slept and his paws twitched from dreams. She lowered her hand to his head, gently stroking the kittens fur. Soft mewls of happiness came from him as his little eyes opened to blink up at her. He nudged her hand affectionately before standing up on his kitty legs and stretching. Lucy smiled sadly as she watched him causally walk to the edge of the bed and jump down, heading for the kitchen. She pulled the covers off her and swung her legs over the edge of the bed, feet touching the cold floor. She made her way to the kitchen. Blaze sat at the food bowl, curious eyes blinking up at her in hopes of being fed. Lucy picked up the bowl and filled it with kitty bits, setting it on the floor.

"I'll see you soon"

She jumped in surprise, looking wildly around the room. Nobody. Blaze rubbed up against her leg and purred, pushing his muzzle into the kibble filled bowl. He ate in silence.

Lucy wasn't hungry.
