In response, Chaeyoung only frowned at her words. Then she asked Antonio. "I haven't seen my grandmother. Where is she?" While saying this, Chaeyoung's face looked blank. However, her mind was already starting to calculate everything. From Mia's words to her actions.

With these in mind, Chaeyoung's hand slowly made its way into her watch and silently pressed a button.

"She was not feeling well." It was the first Elder who answered. "That is not important. The most important thing right now is to familiarize you to what we do. First, let's talk about your marriage…"

"Hold on!" Chaeyoung interrupted. "First. I am not here to become a matriarch in this family. Stop this matriarch this. Matriarch that. I want to live a life away from the Vercello's" She roamed her eyes at everyone. "Second. I am not going to marry anyone aside from Lisa. And third…. Third is I am here to give you a warning."

"Stop all your businesses that involves experimenting people and I will spare you." She added. Her gaze was serious.

However, to her surprise, everyone including Antonio and the First Elder burst into laughter. Was this woman serious?

"Chaeyoung… I never see you as a joker… I… hahaha… " It was Felix. He was here to marry this woman, yet she said she wasn't willing to become the matriarch and marry someone aside from that woman. Was she trying to insult him? Does she find him unqualified to be her husband? Of course, Felix still masked his anger with his laughter.

"You being here means that you are interested in becoming our leader." He added. "The simple rule is for you to marry someone of influence before becoming a matriarch, don't tell me that you want to change this rule?" In Felix Han's mind, Chaeyoung must have wanted to become the matriarch without marrying someone. She wanted them to give in and change the rules for her.

"Chaeyoung… I understand that you like that Lisa Manoban so much. But she does not deserve you. Lisa might be a CEO but what can she give you other than money? Her influence is not as great as the person that we chose for you." The first elder kindly explained. "This is only for the best."

Chaeyoung only scoffed at their words. Her only purpose in coming here is to find her father and end the Vercello's so she could be with Lisa. "I'm not too sure what made you think that I am here to be your matriarch." Then she got up from her seat. "However, I am not interested in anything that would try and control my actions."

"Is this because of your girlfriend?" Antonio said. "You came here with your demands and ego but forgot that by defying us you are endangering her."

"Tsk. Tsk… Chaeyoung. I always thought that you are smart." he added. "How could you miss something like this?"

Chaeyoung slowly turned towards Antonio and smirked. "Did I?"

"Don't act as if you are smart in front of me, young lady. I could have you detained for now until we kill that woman of yours." Antonio growl making Wang Bolin who was originally standing behind Chaeyoung step in front of her. Hiding her from Antonio's line of sight.

"Ah… who do we have here?" Mr. Han sneered. "Is this the boy from the Ye family?"

"Let's go." Wang Bolin uttered, his tone grave. He was originally opposed to Chaeyoung's plan, yet he did not voice out his opinion. Now that there is a possibility that these people might not let Chaeyoung leave, Wang Bolin can't help but regret his earlier decision.

"Isn't this the one who abandoned us? Mr. Ye?" another person chimed in while looking at the man beside him with a very grave expression in his face.
