Once Lillian had left her alone, Bella instantly began to think of an escape plan. She was factoring in Henshaw, the Nth metal bars, the red sun, and the kryptonite lining the place. Bella also reminded herself of the many guards that Lillian possessed as well as her many forms of torture; mentally and physically.

The alien began to think of as much ideas as she could and of what she would do when she got out. In about an hour, she didn't know how much time had passed, Bella had a minor plan formed in her head. She found a small shard of glass that must've been from a syringe that was administered to another subject. Bella planned on trying to use the red sun lamp against the glass shard to direct it at the door for someone to notice her.

She set her plan into motion and moments later a few guards came into the room thinking she was somehow going to start a fire. "Stop that right now!" One guard yelled as the other opened the cell and ran towards her, swinging a fist to her head.

Bella smirked and ducked under his arm only to end up running into the other guard. Thing 2, as Bella had named him, grabbed onto her arms tightly. "You should've just listened!" He spat at her.

Bella twisted out of his grasp and grabbed his keys, in case her plan didn't work, before stuffing them in her shoe and running down the bare hallways. She heard gunshots coming from behind her and felt a searing pain as one bullet grazed her left arm. "Kryptonite," she muttered.

Bella ignored the pain and moved on, pushing a heavy steel door open, close to the exit of the building. Another bullet hit her, burrowing into her right side just below her ribs. She cried out in pain and almost fell into the door leading outside which opened upon impact.

The alien ran outside only to be confronted by a large cyborg with dark brown skin. "You should've stayed put," he said throwing a punch to her abdomen.

"L-let me... go," Bella weakly replied as she double over gasping for air. Henshaw chuckled darkly and grabbed her injured left arm, snapping her forearm bone in half. Bella screamed loudly and pulled the arm back to herself only for Hank to throw her.

The alien slowly stood up and watched in fear as the cyborg walked closer to her slowly. Luckily, his power core drained as he ran out of battery and Bella resumed with running away while cradling her arm to her chest. She made it to the edge of the forest when another bullet came and hit her left leg. Bella tripped and stumbled, crashing into the forest and rolling down a hill.

She lay on the ground panting as her adrenaline wore off. Before she passed out from blood loss, pain, and exhaustion, Bella felt strong arms gently pick her up and carry her away.

Bella's eyes blinked open as her vision slowly cleared. As soon as her eyes weren't foggy, Bella looked around and jumped seeing a place she wasn't familiar with. High brown walls, wood support beams on the slanted roof, a dusted wooden floor, and a soft but scratchy pile of hay that she was laying on. Bella began to hyperventilate and freak out from being in an unknown destination. She could tell it wasn't Cadmus but that put her even higher on edge.

The same strong arms pushed her back down onto the hay, they belonged to a blonde haired man with blue eyes. "Hey, hey, it's okay. You're hurt and you need to stay calm before you make it worse and open your wounds back up," a male voice had said to calm her down.

Bella let out a small cry of pain as she reopened the gunshot wound close to her ribs. She looked down and saw that the lower part of her shirt had been cut to accommodate for the bandage wrapped around her. There were more bandages wrapped around her left arm and her right leg, a splint on her right arm. "Wh-who are you? Where... am I?" She shakily asked while simultaneously being terrified.

The man smiled calmly, "My name is Chris, and you are sitting in my barn so that my parents don't find you. I pulled a bullet out from under your rib, saw one that went through and through in your right leg, changed the bandage that was already in place on your hip from what looks like bone marrow extraction, put a splint on your right arm and attended to the graze on your left. What happened to you?" He was concerned about the girl.

"I-I have to get home so I can warn mom about Lillian and the President," Bella mumbled ignoring Chris. She tried getting up again but winced as she moved her broken arm.

"Lillian? As in Lillian Luthor? What would she want with you and your mom? The president?" Chris tilted his head trying to understand everything coming out of her mouth.

Bella was shocked that he heard her mumble but decided since he knew of her injuries, and seemed like a generally kind person she decided to tell him some of the truth. "I'm Bella... and I'm an alien. If-if you know about Lillian, you pro-probably know about the organization... called Cadmus. The president is working with th-them as he already had affiliations with Lex," she explained.

Now it was Chris' turn to be shocked as his eyes widened. "So they attacked you for being an alien? That's terrible, I've never been a fan of what Lillian stood for and I do believe that aliens should live here freely," he replied.

"I was bo-born here and it's not... just the fact that I'm an alien. I'm a Kryp-Kryptonian. Which me-means that I need to sun to get better," Bella said quietly as she was struggling with the pain.

"Sadly, you slept through the day and it is now night with zero sun out. Meaning you won't get much sun, but you can rest up so that I can take you out to the sun in the morning," Chris told her as he finally stopped trying to keep her laying in the haystack.

Bella sighed and nodded slightly, "Okay, I'll rest. First thing tomorrow I'm going to get some sun, heal, and head home." With that, she laid down and rested her head on the hay. Eventually Bella fell back into a peaceful slumber.
