Chapter 22.
Teenagers. Everywhere.
My eyes were wide in disbelief as I took in my surroundings. There were signs hung up directing us where to go, and we ended up in some really big open field with a huge drive-in screen set up. When we got here there the sun was setting, and there were already tons of campers set up with blankets and chairs, laughing and talking excitedly with their friends. I noticed a couple of food trucks parked along the grass. Where those vehicles came from was beyond me, but they were definately there.
"Wow," Sabrina mused, looking at everybody. I haven't even seen half these campers before. Where the hell did they come from?
"Wow's right," I muttered, rolling my eyes. "Let's leave."
"No!" Bonnie exclaimed, looking at me with puppy-dog eyes. Oh please. I just sighed in defeat, and followed my cabinmates as we searched for a decent spot to sit. I ended up bringing my little hobo bag which contained a big hoodie and a small blanket. I had it casually slung over my shoulders, while the others looked as if they were struggling to carry their own. I don't even want to know what Bonnie brought. Hell, or Sabrina.
"Guys, right there! Look!" Sabrina said, pointing her finger towards a spot. Following her gaze, I spotted a bunch of familiar people there. I forgot their names, but I saw Cherry, and she was waving at us to join them. I mentally smacked myself in the face. I think I made a mistake with coming here.
It was literally like an obstacle course trying to move around with all these people planted on the ground. Stepping over people, trying not to step on their hands or things....it wouldn't be nice if I stepped on somebody's hand with boots like mine. Geez imagine that.
"Seriously?" I mumbled under my breath as I saw three girls in their bikinis, who looked like they were tanning. It's practically night out, you dumbasses.
After that mission, we finally made it over to Bonnie and Sabrina's friends and set up camp. Peyton stood there for a moment looking conflicted, and when I looked up at her, she frowned.
"You afraid to sit down on the grass?" I arched a brow. "I'm pretty sure it won't bite you."
"I don't know if I should...." She trailed off, her eyes averting my gaze as she scanned the field of people. "I...Katrina......"
Furrowing my brows, I looked over my shoulder following her gaze, and saw my favourite person in the world glaring daggers at me a decent distance away. I gave her a smug smile, and turned back to Peyton in amusement.
"Looks like your owner's calling you, pup," I sneered with a roll of my eyes. Honestly, it didn't bother me that Peyton was still conflicted between us and Katrina. Hell, the girl can do whatever she wants. She can go running to Katrina if her life depends on it, I don't give a rat's ass. Although, I'm not going to lie and say it doesn't irritate me the slightest.
