Epilogue.

"I"m done with you. This...you and I, it's not working anymore. I'm sick and tired of putting up with your bullshit, and I know you don't exactly fancy me either, so you know what? Let's just end it."

Ben stood there, jaw dropped and bloodshot-eyes wide as he took in what I just told him. School started today, and I called Ben over in the morning so I could finally break up with him. I realised that this should have happened a long time ago. I mean, jeez, he's more messed up than I remember him.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" He snapped, his words slurring a bit. He began to fidget -- something he's always done when he was either nervous or beginning to get angry. I suddenly felt a bit hesitant of doing this, seeing his reaction.

I have to do this, though.

"Ben--"

"Why are you calling me that?" He hissed, flinching. I blinked, and glared daggers at him as I clenched my fists tightly.

"Because it's your name, Ben!" I snapped. "I've always hated the name Snake. It's stupid and tacky, just like the guy owning the name. You're not 'you' anymore. You're some completely different person -- and I don't like him. I've never liked him, I don't even know why I put up with him for so long."

"Are you....are you talking about me?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. I groaned out loud. Are you serious, though? This is the guy I've wasted all this time with? Idiot.

"Yes, Ben! I'm talking about you! We're over!" I shouted, growing angry for some reason. I guess I was just angry at myself now, knowing how messed up I was for staying with Ben. Or Snake.

Yeah, Ben's gone. No more Ben.

He just stared at me, almost as if he couldn't comprehend what I was telling him. He blinked, and suddenly his eyebrows furrowed as he took a step towards me, anger flashing in his bloodshot eyes.

"You don't know what you're talking about."

"Oh, but I do. You clearly don't get it, though. Want me to repeat myself?" I asked icily, folding my arms over my chest as I looked up at him. He towered over me, obviously, but I wasn't about to coward underneath his stare. No, I'm not about to let this guy intimidate me or manipulate me any longer. I'm so done.

Suddenly, Ben's anger disappeared from his face, and instead a deep frown plastered onto his lips as he looked at me. He searched my face, looking for something -- regret? I know how stunned he was right now. I mean, really, we've been together for a while, and all of a sudden I call him over to break up with him. I guess I can understad why he would be so confused and full of mixed emotions.

"Look," I began. "When I was away for the summer, I've realised a bunch of things. Alot of them were about you. Ben, you're not the boy I fell in love with. Maybe you are, maybe somewhere deep, deep down he's still there. But, look at you for crying out loud," I exclaimed, my eyes trailing up and down his body.

"You're ruining yourself!" I choked. "You're ruining yourself, and you're ruining me by staying with me. I can't do this anymore, okay? There are so many things you've done wrong with our relationship, with us....I'm not putting up with it anymore. Yeah, I know I've done some stupid things too but I've--"
