Chapter 14.
My day started with me feeling like complete and utter crap.
The second I opened my eyes, I wanted to die. My body was aching like a screaming bitch. My neck was screwed up from my sleeping position, all strained and stiff, making it difficult for me to turn my head, and my eye -- the one that Katrina punched, was throbbing intensely. I could imagine that I looked even worse than I felt. Katrina got me pretty good last night, I'll give her props for that. I just hope and pray that she got it twice as bad.
This morning went by like a blur, and I felt almost dead to the world the entire time. When people tried talking to me, I shut them out completely, barely acknowledging their prescence. It rained last night, and so everything from the tents to all the equipment was damp, along the fact that it was just a miserable morning. Hell, I don't even remember the hike back to our cabin, that's how out I was this morning.
So as soon as I stumbled into Cabin #13, I collapsed onto my warm, comfy bed, wanting to fall asleep forever without any interuptions. My hood was pulled tightly over my head, shutting me out from the world as I had my face burried into my pillow.
"Ah, bed," I sighed contently. "Babe. I missed you. I missed our long nights. I just want you to know, that last night all I could think about was you. You're my--"
"Blaire?"
I groaned, and mentally rolled my eyes as I immediately realised who was interuppting my heart-to-heart with my bed. "What?"
"Are you alright? Who are you, erm, talking to?" Peyton's smooth voice filled the quiet room. I let out a loud sigh, and slightly pulled my hood off so I could turn to peek at her from under my hair. Peyton was standing next to Bonnie's bed, watching me with a slight frown plastered onto her innocent face.
"Oh, Peyton," I grumbled. "You wouldn't understand, this relationship I have with my bed."
Peyton cracked the slightest of a smile. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Did you have a rough sleep?"
"Like you wouldn't believe." Why was I always participating in conversations? I mean, all I wanted to do was sleep for crying out loud. Go away, Peyton!
Peyton just nodded, confusion written on her face as she uncomforatably looked around the room, fidgetting with her little hands. I raised an eyebrow at her, suddenly feeling the slight tension fogging up the room.
"Um," I felt my forehead crease as I watched her plant herself onto Bonnie's bed. Suddenly, Peyton's face paled a little as her eyes snapped to mine, her eyes wide and alert.
"It was you, wasn't it?" She accused softly, a deep frown appearing on her face. She looked like she just figured out some kind of crime, and the way she was looking at me? I guess I was the criminal.
"Say what?" I demanded, narrowing my eyes as I pushed my fallen hair out of my face, slowly sitting up as I kept my eyes firm on her. I saw Peyton's throat bob a little as she swallowed, squirming a little in her spot. Then she spotted my face, and her eyes literally bulged out of their sockets as they remained on my swollen eye. She let out a small gasp, her hand flying to her mouth. This almost amused me, and I folded my arms over my chest as I stared at her, watching her clear her throat. She glanced down at her lap before returning her shocked eyes to me.
