All chapters prior to this one have had edits made to them.

All previous chapters have had an update, and X-Dee has had a bit of an upgrade too. They're just missing their wings in this piece since they can be unsummoned etc.  Their outfit looks much better now :D

Techno and Micheal too!

Chapter 12

【Ready, Set】

Technoblade found them admiring the stars in the light dusting of snow. He let the door slip closed with a soft click and stepped up beside X-Dee.

"Thanks for the help," he rumbled and received a wordless hum in return.

Blinking against the sprinkling snow, Technoblade mused about what their lives had become. Where things had taken a turn and why they had allowed themselves to...fall into this cycle with the humans. Where they had gotten so wrapped up with themselves that they forgot who else was...playing, who didn't know this was nothing more than the result to two bored people.

"How's the head?"

"Getting there," they assured then paused, lips pursed, "I remembered somethings after I died. Uncle Schlatt reminded me of the fact the revival book exists."

"Huh," Technoblade blinked, perplexed, "I thought that was just a myth? Foolish was always cryptic about its existence when I asked him years ago."

Laughing softly, X-Dee flashed him a toothy grin, revealing sharp canines, "It exists alright, but we need some stuff for the ritual. Like a Totem of Undying."

Technoblade scoffed, "That's easy."

Again, X-Dee chortled, leaning against his side. Technoblade curled his arms around their shoulder. They were cold to the touch, colder than normal that is, and he grunted, tugging his cloak off to drape it across their shoulders then curled his arm over them again.

"How long have you been out here? You're freezing."

"A while," they shrugged nonchalantly.

Realistically, Technoblade knew X-Dee was far more accustomed to cold temperatures as the End wasn't the warmest of places, but it wasn't anything like the tundra in which they lived. Techonblade knew for a fact a god could get ill since X-Dee had their fair share of sickly days growing up.

Technoblade would rather they not get hypothermia.

"Idiot," he grumbled, and they muffled a giggle, burrowing into the thick red fabric with a large fluffy collar.

"But I'm your idiot!" They chimed.

Ignore the warmth crawling into his cheeks, Technoblade heaved a sigh, "Unfortunately."

They gasped, "Rude!"

But a shared look had them matching grins.

***

Technoblade had to admit, even if quietly to himself, that despite the small community they had going on here in the tundra, they didn't often get together like this. No group dinners, no outings—they felt no need to, but they were still a relatively close-knit...community? Group? Whatever their little place was, he felt no need to name it, never had.

Still, that was beside the point. The point was, everyone was here, including Foolish who had returned to partake in this meeting.

X-Dee met his gaze from across the room from where they were stood between Puffy and Sam and a small smile graced their face, Technoblade returned it.

"So," Sam began, clapping his hands as a grin tugged at his mouth, "We've elected to destroy the prison in a spectacular fashion."

Tubbo perked up, "And in what way would that be?"

"TNT, of course," X-Dee beamed.

Tubbo grinned manically.

Technoblade felt a dash of dread at the look alone—Tubbo could be plain chaotic, he had learned. Still, quite a few people were also very interested in this development, Technoblade included.

"So when do we strike?" Glatt questioned, "I really wanna see the looks on their faces at the sight of all of us there. Especially after the debacle of them trying to execute Techno."

Technoblade felt a part of him shudder at the reminder of the anvil, of the agony of his skull getting crushed and then its restoration with the Totem of Undying. A part of him wants to trace the golden scarring that just peaks out of his hairline, but he fights the desire and kept his hands at his sides.

X-Dee shoots him a look, panic in their eyes, "What? When did this happen?"

Puffy and Sam look just as confused for obvious reasons.

"After I stepped down as president, Quackity took it up," Tubbo grimaced, "And...well, he decided they needed to set an example."

Glatt and Ghostbur shared wincing glances, knowing the events leading up to the cause of Quackity's descent.

"Doesn't excuse his actions," Ranboo warbled, "He dragged Fundy, Jack and Sapnap into it."

"I—never mind," X-Dee frowned before shaking their head, Technoblade knew they would be talking about it later, however.

Phil spoke up, "We came to the idea that I called in a favour from X-Dee and so they're supplying the necessary equipment. It'll instil more fear into them knowing a god is supporting us."

"Make that two," Foolish added with an oh-so serene smile.

Technoblade felt eager to get a move on and cause some chaos, "So, everyone's thoughts on Withers?"

He gets amused looks all around.

X-Dee summoned an additional hand that held a purple skulker box, promptly summoned a second one and used the fourth hand to open the skulker to reveal stacks of TNT.

"Holy shit!" Tubbo exclaimed with a wicked grin, "I've never seen so much before!"

X-Dee beamed, "That's nothing! I plan to give everyone a full skulker each!"

Tubbo fist bumped the air and let out a quiet hiss, "Fuck yeah."

Ghostbur chimed in excitedly with: "Can we make TNT launchers? I've never seen one in action before."

More laughter.

Totems of Undying are unsummonable to X-Dee, who is pretty much in creative mode 24-7 but there are restrictions. The Totem being one. Anything that doesn't fit the natural flow, I suppose. Totems are created by using souls, which makes them a dark/evil type of magic. Hence why only Evokers have them.
