As Gildarts approached the guild building, the girl on his back stirred in her sleep. He couldn't help but lightly chuckle at the girl, she was incredibly adorable there was no denying that much.As he opened the door he was welcomed with a flaming fist to the face. "Take this old man!" A pink haired boy yells. Guildarts is quick to block the punch and slam the boy into the ground with a chop to the neck.
"Natsu be quiet! Can't you see I've got a visitor?" He scolded. At this Natsu perked up and peered around the mans shoulder, and there she was.
A tiny little girl, hugging his back like a little koala. "Oh wow, she's tiny!" Natsu exclaims, completely ignoring Guildarts comment from not the second prior to be quiet.
At the mention of a visitor, the guilds attention was brought to Guildarts and the girl he had with him. Makarov walks over to the crash mage and examines the little girl.
"I take it you would like to speak with me for a moment?" he asks. Though his tone didn't show it, concern glazed over the old man's eyes. He could never bare to see a child in pain.
"But first, can we get someone to help take care of the girl? She's exhausted most of her magic energy and has some physical injuries as well."
A girl with red hair immediately raises her hand. "I would be happy to do so, sir," she said.
The master smiled, "Thank you Erza, take her to the back medical room, and bring Lisanna and Mira with you."
The three girls went to the back room with Guildarts and placed the girl down on the bed for treatment, they send off the man and tell him they'll take it from there.
Finally Guildarts and Makarov sit in his office and have a talk. Makarov eyed Guildart tentatively, waiting for him to speak. When the man didn't do so, the master took it upon himself to start the discussion. "So... what happened?" the older man inquired.
"Well, I was in the area for my job when I decided to stop by and say hello to an old friend who lived by there, Micah Creed. However when I got there, the house was in shambles and the only survivor I could make out was the girl. I'm not quite sure what happened but whatever she saw will give her nightmares to last a lifetime that's for sure," he said recalling the gruesome scene. He wondered what had left the girl as the only remaining survivor, and who could have possibly slaughtered those innocent children and family of hers.
"Do you know anything about the girl?" Makarov asked, snapping the crash mage out of his thoughts.
"Not much, since she passed out almost immediately after starting our journey to the guild. She said her name was Maki but that's about it. And I do know she's the daughter of Micah, so I couldn't just leave her there."
The man continues when he doesn't get a response from the Master, who was thoughtfully playing with his mustache. "I figured she could join the guild - that is, if you're ok with it and she wants to."
Makarov hummed, deep in thought. "Yes I think that's a good idea, do you know if she has magic?"
"I assume so, I did feel some energy coming from her plus, her dad is-er, was a really strong mage." Guildarts explains.
"I see..."

Meanwhile, in the medical room, the three girls had tended to the younger girls wounds and made her nice and comfortable to rest.
"I wonder why Guildarts brought a this girl back to the guild..." Lisanna wondered out loud. Erza replied, "I would assume he found this girl while on his job, though it's still strange. After all, it's not every day that Guildarts comes bursting in with a little child on his back."
"I'm not sure either, but I'll admit, she's pretty cute," Mira admitted. The other girls couldn't help but agree, the girl was truly adorable.
"I hope she wakes up soon." Lisanna spoke. "Maybe she'll be our friend and join the guild!"
The girls sat there in silence looking over the girls wounds one more time before the door opened, revealing Guildarts and the master Makarov. "Ah, good job girls. She looks nice and comfortable now."
"Any signs of her waking up?" Guildarts asked eyeing the girl with caution. She seemed stable, at least which was good. "Mmm I'm not sure. She's been stirring for a bit now. Her wounds have been treated and her drained magic has slowly started to return." Erza replied.
Their talking ceased when they heard a small sound come from the girl. "Is she waking up?" Lisanna whispered.
Slowly, the girls eyes fluttered open. As she adjusted to the light and took in her surroundings, she became utterly confused. 'How did I get here?' She wondered. 'And where is here anyway?"
She noticed there were quite a few people in the room, three girls who looked to be a couple years older than her, a tiny old man and Guildarts, the man that saved her earlier. She shrunk into the bed sheets and covered part of her face with the blanket given to her by Mira (who insisted it was only because the little girl looked cold, NOT because she was a 'softie').
"Um, where am I?" She asked quietly as her eyes darted from person to person.
"You're at fairytail! My name is Lisanna and I'm a member here. What's your name?" She asked. 'Fairytail?' Maki wondered. 'What's fairytail?'
Noticing the girls confusion, Guildarts spoke up. "I brought you here. Remember how I told you I'd take you somewhere safe?" She nodded. "Well, I brought you here. You're safe now." He spoke spoke softly,
"You seem confused child, what is it?" Makarov asked, also noticing her confusion. "I'm sorry but, what's fairytail?" Maki questioned. The master smiled at this. "Fairytail is a guild. Do you know what that is?"
"I've heard of them before. Is that where people who use magic come together and make a group?" She asked.
"In a way, yes. But fairytail is much more than that. You see, while we are a guild, we're also a family," Makarov explains with a soft smile, slowly easing the girls nerves.
"A... family?" The girl said, "I- I don't have a family anymore." She looked down and her expression became gloomier.
"Nonsense. You have us," the master said grinning brightly at the girl, "What do you say about joining our family?"
The girl froze at this. She felt a small pang in her heart thinking about what happened with her late family, and feared allowing herself to get close to a new family would result in the same situation. But this is such a big, strong family, and she couldn't stand the thought of being alone.
The girl hesitantly looked up at all of them. A small light appeared in her eyes that hadn't been there before. "I think... I would like that," she confessed. All their faces lit up at this.
"Hooray!"
"I'm glad."
"Alright!"
"You made a great choice my child. The Fairytail family will always be there for you.
No matter what."_______________________________
