One Year Since
Tenrou Disappearance

*THUD*

A sack slammed down on the floor of the forest. A small girl leaned her back against one of the trees and exhaled a deep breath, before tying her hair back.

Taking in her surroundings she sat down and relaxed for a moment.

"I'm so hungry." She said out loud to no one in particular.

She sighed before stretching her arms over her head. She was incredibly fatigued, but not from her job, but from the walk the followed it.

"Come on Maki, get it together. I guess this is what I get for choosing a job on the outskirts of town." The girl said, still talking herself.

Suddenly she felt something nearby, then she heard a very soft cry. She stood up cautiously, due to nerves and her being lightheaded. She made her way over to the cries before her a vicious growl. Slowly turning she saw a humongous Vulcan.

'What the hell!?' She thought, 'Vulcans aren't even supposed to be in this type of climate!'

She turned to her right and looked down, seeing a little... frog? Regardless of what it was, she scooped it up and dove out of the Vulcan's way just in time.

She continued to run from the Vulcan with her sack on the back and the small creature in her arms.

Eventually her fatigue overpowered her adrenaline, and she collapsed unwillingly.

"Of all times for my legs to fail me they choose now... how convenient." She groaned.

She waited for impact of the Vulcan but it never came. Instead she felt the small thing she was cradling crawl out from her grasp.

"Ro!" She heard it say. Wait- it can talk!?

"Frosch! Are you ok?" She heard the voice of a boy exclaim.

"Mhm. This nice girl helped me but she fell down... but Fro doesn't know why." The little one trailed off.

The boys gaze traveled to the girl who was face down on the ground, breathing incredibly heavily.

"Um. Are you ok?" He asked awkwardly. He wasn't great with social interactions, especially girls his age.

She slowly lifted her head to see the boy. Maki, being the socially awkward girl she is, internally panicked.

"I- I- yeah. I'm ok. Just hungry." She forced out. 'Just hungry? Really?' She thought.

"Oh well in that case, here." The boy said, tossing her a bar.

"Thanks." She mumbled before literally inhaling it (turned away from this mysterious boy of course, the last thing she needed was to be judged by some depressed looking kid.)
