Maki's eyes shot open and all that her vision could make out was a very bright whiteness. Her ears could only make out a high pitched ringing sound.

Was she dead?

No. Her vision began to focus as she realized she's in a medical room. She could make out three or four blurry figures by this point.

Slowly her hearing returned as well, as she began to hear muffled voices.
She groaned out trying the sit up, but found herself immobilized.

The room went quiet at this and all heads turned to her.

"Maki?" A voice asked.

Wait she knows that voice. It sounded almost like-

"It's me, Bisca. Are you awake?"

She focused her eyes on the figures in front of her once more and this time could make them out a lot better. From what she could make out, Bisca, Macao, Wakaba and Porlyusica were all in there with her.

"Um. Hi." She said weakly.

"Oh thank goodness. Do you remember anything, kid?" Macao asked.

"I think... I fought someone." Maki said, her mind still foggy.

"Yeah. I fought someone. When me and Romeo were walking home we were attacked. I sent him back to the guild for his safety then fought the guy. I have no idea what happened after our fight, all I know is that he impaled me with a spear and something clicked." Maki explained.

"Something... clicked?" Bisca repeated.

"Yeah, that's the best way I can explain it." Maki said.

"All you humans leave except for the girl. I need to have a word with her." Porlyusica demanded.

The adults listened and left the two alone.

"Child, do you know what a magic seal is?" The older woman asks.

"Yeah. But I've never met someone with one before, at least not that I know of." Maki responded.

"Now you do." The pink haired lady replied.

"Huh."

"It would appear that the click you felt was actually your magic seal being broken." Porlyusica explained.

"Are you sure? Shouldn't I have known? There's usually a marking where the seal is." Maki stated seeming confused.

"Yes usually, but it seems whoever did this was very experienced, and somehow created an internal seal." The old woman replied, "I could be wrong, but I believe it's because of an overwhelming amount of magic. I suppose you just were born with an abnormal amount." The pink haired woman continued.

"Dad." Maki says under her breath.

"What was that?" Porlyusica asked cocking an eyebrow.

"Nothing! Just that it was most likely my dad."

"Well then your dad's one irresponsible man. What he did to you could have very easily resulted in your death. Either immediately after placing the seal, or over time from too much magic being built up." The healer explained.

"So in other words, you're saying I've lived my whole life with a magic seal inside me, holding most of my magic since my body wouldn't be able to handle all of it?" Maki recaps.

"Yes. Except now there's an issue..." Porlyusica trailed off, "Your seal was not only broken, it was shattered. I removed all the pieces but, the magic within you is no longer being held back by anything, meaning that you will be feeling the full extent of your magic." The woman said eying the girl.

"When it broke, did you feel an overwhelming rush?" She asked.

Maki nodded rapidly. "Yes that's exactly how I'd describe it. It was almost too much power. It made me so dizzy."

"I hate to break it to you child, but until your body adjusts, you may feel that way quite often." Porlyusica sighed.

Maki nodded but didn't say anything.

"I've stitched your stomach, you're lucky your guild mates got you here when they did, since now you most likely not have a bad scar. However, you may have an internal scar, but it really won't affect you either way." Porlyusica shrugged.

"Alright. Aside from all that, would you say I'm ok to go back with my guild?" Maki asked.

"So ambitious. I suppose so. You just have to promise that you won't overdo anything. Maybe avoid jobs for the next few weeks to avoid permanent damage." The healer said with a small approving nod.

"Thank you so much Porlyusica. I don't know how to ever make it up to you." Maki smiled.

"You can start by getting the hell out of here, human!" She snarled.

"Y-yes!" Maki said as she hurried out.

~~~
The remaining members of fairytail chatted quietly amongst themselves until the door shifted. Heads turned as someone pushed the door harder.
There was Maki. Bandaged up, ruffled hair, huge eye bags, but she was alive and still in one piece.
"Maki!" Romeo exclaimed.
He embraced the girl carefully and couldn't help but let a small smile creep onto his face.
Macao's jaw dropped. Maki followed through with her promise, Romeo was smiling. It wasn't a big toothy smile, but it was a happy, genuine smile.
"Hey, Romeo." Maki said with a pained smile.
"I'm so sorry! I never should've listened to you. I should stayed back and helped you fight! If I did... you never would've gotten hurt like this!" Romeo cried out.
"It's okay Romeo. I'm gonna be ok. In fact, if this never happened, I never would have learned something about myself." Maki confessed.
"And what might that be?" Macao asked.
"Well two things, one I never would have learned that I had a magic seal hidden in my stomach." Maki said scratching the back of her neck.
"A what now!?" Some members exclaimed.
"I know, it's crazy. I also would have never realized something. I never realized how much the idea of you guys getting badly hurt truly scared me. I promise you guys, I won't let anything bad happen to you." Maki said with her hand in the air, as if she was taking an oath.
The whole guild cheered and Romeo hugged her a bit too tight making her wince.
"Oops, my bad." Romeo apologized.
Maki returned the gesture and gave Romeo a soft hug.
What Maki and the others had yet to realize, is the much deeper reason to Maki's attack a few days ago.
