Two Months since Tenrou Disappearance

Two middle aged men sat at the bar inside the Fairytail guildhall.

"Macao, don't you think it's time we pick a new master?" Wakaba asked holding his cigar out of his mouth.

"You're probably right it's just... it's kinda scary, moving on like that and having someone else wear the big shoes." Macao sighed.

"Who do you think it should be anyways?" Wakaba inquired his best friend.

"I don't know, maybe we can come together as a guild and decide." The blue haired man replied.

"Hey, guys, I've got a question." Macao shouted a bit too loud. With the number of members dropping at a rapid rate, he forgot how much quieter the place was.

"What's up?" Warren asked walking towards the bar.

"Well... we were thinking that maybe it's time we choose a new master." Macao told them all.

Reality hit everyone in the guild once again. It was just so hard to move on that easily.

"Ah, I guess you're right." Max agreed, "Any ideas for who it could be?"

"I think it should be my dad!" Romeo exclaimed.

"Romeo come on, let's think realistically. Someone like me could never be master since-"

"He has a good point, you know." Maki said cutting the man off.

"Hm?"

"Romeo isn't wrong. I think you'd be a decent master." Maki admitted.

'Decent?' Macao thought sweat dropping slightly.

"You've proven to be able to handle responsibility pretty well, and besides, what more do we have to lose?" She asked.

"I- I don't know. I may need some time to think this through."

"Alright. Well if you need me, I'll be outside by the woods." Maki said point her thumb towards the door.

The girl made her way to her spot that she'd been training at ever since that day she decided to punch that tree. For the past two months she's trained here, and occasionally punched the tree if she got mad.

She would train until she exhausted a good amount of her magic, then would go to the guild and help out around there.

After training and slacking off for a bit, she lied on her back with her hands behind her head, watching the sky. While lying there she realized something.

How the hell was she supposed to live in her house that she shared with Guildarts? The only reason she could afford it was because of Guildarts raking in a ton of jewel from his high-paying jobs. Without him here now... how would she even afford one month of rent?

When he would go on long quests, he would pay for the rent years in advance... so maybe she'd be covered for sometime? And by then she'll save up enough! 'Prefect.' She thought. 'I don't plan on giving up the place that easily.'

One other thing hit her though. If she wanted to continue to afford to live there, she'd have to take plenty of jobs. And now with the money makers of the guild gone, more people were gonna have to start stepping up to afford their guild hall.

The problem? Maki had never been on a job by herself before. She'd always gone with Erza, or Guildarts, or Cana, or Team Natsu as a whole. It's not that she was scared -well- maybe she was a little scared. But it was really because she just preferred the company, plus it made the job go way faster.

As she slowly made her way back to the guild, she took all these things into consideration.

Then when she finally walked through the doors she made her decision.

"Tomorrow, I'll go on my first solo job!"
