Chapter 17

As Takemichi walked past a playground, a voice called out to him. 

"Hey!"

"C'mere!"

"Pop a squat," Chifuyu pointed to the swing beside him.

Takemichi turned around and decided to ignore him.

"Yesterday was a total disaster. Baji-san's a total badass, ain't he?" Chiufyu spoke which caught Takemichi's attention.

"You were Baji's friend?" Takemichi asked.

"Tokyo Manji Gang. First Division Captain. Chifuyu Matsuno," Chifuyu introduced himself.

"You're the guy Baji-kun beat to a pulp!!" Takemichi rushed toward him.

"So are you," Chifuyu replied.

"We actually met before," Chifuyu continued.

"Ehh? really?" Takemichi replied.

"Spying of Daisuke and Kasumi's date, " Chifuyu replied.

Takemichi is still clueless. He doesn't remember spying on Kasumi and Daisuke's date.

"Never mind that. you should be thankful to him," Chifuyu started.

"You ruin the nomination ceremony. If Baji-san hadn't decked you... something even worse would have happened to you," 

"I got beat up so he could join Valhalla. But Baji-san didn't get into Valhalla to destroy Toman,"

"Baji-san has something else on his mind...its Kisaki," Chifuyu continued.

"...What?!" Takemichi was shocked.

"I'm going to investigate the connection between Valhalla and Kisaki. Daisuke and Kasumi already have a headstart," Chifuyu said after forming his partnership with Takemichi.

"Ehh? Daisuke-kun and Kasumi-chan already know who Kiasaki is?" Takemichi asked.

"Yeah...seems like they knew about it from the start...right now they are still investigating," Chifuyu explained.

"No...way," Takemichi replied.

"Chifuyu...Takemichi...you're going to ask Osanai too?" Daisuke asked the two who stood beside him in front of a carpenter shop.

"Yeah...seems like we have the same mind," Chifuyu answered.

After talking with Osanai, it was revealed that Kiaski will do anything to reach his goal and never gets his hands dirty, for he has his pawn substitute for him. Kisaki was the one pulling the string behind the 8/3 battle and get Mikey's favor for getting Pah-chin pardon. He now has a new weapon...which is Hanma.

All of this information wasn't new to Daisuke...Kasumi already told him what happened.

After Chifuyu told Takemichi and Daisuke that Kisaki is the leader of Valhalla, Takemichi pardoned himself and went back to Hina's house.

"Chifuyu...." Daisuke caught Chifuyu's attention.

"What is it?" Chiufyu asked.

"Baji-san...going to die," Diasuke said.

"What are you saying...Baji-san's going to die..." Chifuyu was shocked.

"Baji-san knew about Kisaki's plan. If Kisaki wanted to continue his plan, he will have to kill those who are in his ways of getting his hand dirty. Kisaki will use the fight on October 31rst to kill Baji-san," Daisuke tried to come up with logical reasoning.

Walking out of the convenience store, stood Baji holding Peyoung Yakisoba. A voice called him from the bench across the street. It was Kasumi who waved at him.

"Baji-san!" Kasumi waved her hand with a smile.

Baji didn't say anything. He walked toward her.

"Knew you would be here," Kasumi said.

"You waited for me?" Baji asked.

"Actually, I've been waiting here for 5 hours," Kasumi said.

"You waited for that long..." Baji was dumbfounded by Kasumi's explanation.

"Yes, I waited though it was quite embarrassing. People who walked past me think that I'm a weirdo for standing in the same spot for 5 hours. But at least, I'm able to talk to you. You never answered Diasuke's and Chifuyu's phone calls," Kasumi explained further.

"You don't have to. I'm Toman's enemy and I'm not your captain anymore," Baji sighed.

"You are still my captain," Kasumi interjected quickly which shocked Baji.

"Sorry...This wasn't what I actually want to talk to you about... it's about Valhalla and Kisaki," Kasumi apologized.

"What about it... if you try to get information from me about Valhalla then you're out of luck," Baji uttered.

"Did you join Valhalla to reveal Kisaki's true intention or take Kazutora back to Toman...?" Kasumi asked.

Baji flinched.

"How do you know about Kazutora?" Baji asked.

"Takemichi told me," Kasumi lied.

"I'm taking Kazutora back. He needs to be saved," Baji said.

"You're not going to die just to save him.... right..." Kasumi asked.

Baji flinched again.

"You're going to die....in the fight on October 31st, Valhalla vs Toman. Kisaki knew about you. He knew that you are aware of his plans. He's planning to kill you during that fight," Kasumi blurted.

Baji didn't say anything.

"Please... don't die... It will cause more trouble for Toman and Kazutora..." Kasumi continued.

"I still respect you as a Captain. Baji-san is still my...no... our captain. I'm willing to help you in any way I can...but I won't stand still when you will be risking your life," Kasumi stood up and faced Baji.

"I'm Toman's enemy... you shouldn't be seeing me... or else you're going to be counted as Toman's traitor," Baji spoke.

"What I do with my life is my choice. But thanks for worrying about me," Baji stood up and walked away.

So...I can't place any seeds of doubt in your plan...Baji-san...
