The fire started to lose its will. It's now fading away....into empty darkness.
Kasumi wandered through that darkness, trying to find that fire. A flashback hit her; when she fought Daisuke, his eyes were dull...
' now that Daisuke's gone....you're really lost....' a figure approached her.
' mom.....?' Kasumi held her head to meet her mother.
' I can't believe you use me as an excuse,' she said.
' wait...are you actually my mom or my consciousness creating you,' Kasumi spoke.
' you choose the answer,' she chuckled.
' that's not helpful.....' Kasumi replied quietly.
' that's just how life is....you can't just sit and wait for an answer to come to you,' her mom replied.
' what are you going to do now?' her mom continued.
Kasumi stayed quiet.
' it's not a difficult question. Answer it from your heart,' her mom knelt and pointed toward Kasumi's heart.
' what can I do....its hopeless anyway....' Kasumi held her head down.
Suddenly the scenery around them started to change.
This sensation...
Trees slowly started to grow and the sound of animals living inside the forest started to become clear.
' Chifuyu....,' Kasumi realized the symbolism.
Her mom chuckled, " looks like there are some contradictions."
' whatever you decided, remember, don't forget that the outside force is still there.... be wary of the consequences of your action,' her mom warned her.
And with that Kasumi slowly opened her eyes.
" Kasumi?!!! You're awake!!" A voice called out to her and hugged her tightly.
" Sorry to make you worry, Chifuyu," Kasumi smiled and hugged him back.
" Your brothers just went back home to get their late breakfast. Your parents will be here soon," Chifuyu said.
" I see....um... shouldn't you be at your house....did you eat yet?" Kasumi asked.
" I already did," Chifuyu reassured her.
Then there was a silence between them.
" Um....do you know where Daisuke is?" Kasumi slowly asked.
" I haven't seen him for these past 3 days," Chifuyu answered.
Drops of tears started to fall; landing on her closed palm.
" Kasumi...." Chifuyu pulled her in for a hug to comfort her.
" I always knew the possibility of him betraying me.....now that it's happened....why can't I just accept it...." Kasumi spoke despite the hiccups.
" Daisuke is not that type of guy. There's one thing I know for sure about him. And that's he will never betray you. I promise you that I will get him back," Chifuyu spoke.
" Thank you.....but it's pointless... Daisuke already made his decision...." Kasumi replied.
The door opened up suddenly revealing Takemichi.
" Sorry....I'll leave you two alone...." Takemichi slowly closed the door when meeting Chifuyu's death stare.
" It's okay," Kasumi spoke after calming herself down and wiping her tears.
