Peso pov

I was looking out the window and got myself lost in thought, I didn't realise the time and heard a weird sound "cheepa cheepa!" A small creature that reminded me of a turnip spoke. I had never seen anything like it and replied "w-who are you?" But before I could freak out shellington came through the octohatch and said "come on peso it's time for dinner, tunip came to pick you up, but then I realised I hadn't introduced you to the vegimals yet, and you don't know how to speak vegimalese" I looked at him then at the clock " oh I'm so sorry, I hadn't realised the time." I said with worry of being a bit tardiness "oh it's quite fine, now come on you have to try the vegimals food, its very good! Today we're having kelp kebabs." He said before he jumped back, in the octochute with tunip behind him.

I looked at the octochute and jumped down, when I came out the other end I crashed into shellington by accident. "Oh I'm so so sorry, I still haven't gotten the hang of going down the octochutes!" I looked at him and he got home and lend me one of his paws. I took his hand and stood up balancing myself before I fall over again, out of the fact I was a bit shaken after what happened. "Oh sorry I didn't move out of the way, are you ok?" He said in worry "oh no it's fine I'm ok." I replied quickly, as shellington continued to lead me to the kitchen.

Barnacles pov

I was walking down the hall when I saw peso and Shellington walking towards the kitchen "Hello you two, peso how are you doing in the octopod so far?" I said striking up a conversation and trying to make sure our newest member was settling in ok. "Everythings fine captain, thank you for asking though." He said with a very polite tone. "Now why don't you two come along now, I'm starving for the vegimals food!" I said as the three of us then started to walk towards the kitchen. I jumped in first, shellington second, and peso last. When me and shellington started walking towards the benches we heard a thud and a groaning sound. I flashed my head around to peso on the floor holding his sore arm. "Peso what happened!?" I said as I immediately went to help him up. "I'm fine captain I just misplaced my stepping when coming out of the octochute, sorry." He said, but I was still worried he would keep on falling over and getting himself hurt. "You don't need to apologise it was just an accident." I said trying to make him not feel bad because he was being very apologetic.

Peso pov

I hate how I keep falling over at the end of the octochutes, I  going to have to practice going up and down them. In the mean time I'm going to eat my dinner with everyone, it reminds me of home where all of my family would gather round for a delicious meal and fun time. Shellington said that we were having kelp kebabs. I don't think I've ever eaten kelp, considering I lived on solid frozen ice for me entire life.
We entered the kitchen and there I saw the rest of the crew on one side, and the vegimals at work on the other. I sat down across from kwazii with dashi on my left and inkling on my right. "Excuse me but, I've never had kelp before, what does it taste like?" I asked her wondering what they even looked like.

Dashi pov

Peso seems like a very nice person, he even asked very politely what kelp tasted like "well I don't know how do describe it exactly but it tastes really good so I think you should find out ashen you try it, and trust me it's delicious" I replied to the question. Inkling overheard and added "well since it's grown and its a plant and its what we use to make most meals here, its very healthy. You don't have any allergies do you now?"

Inkling pov

I forgot to ask peso an allergies he had, but since he grew up on ice I don't think he has any major allergies, goes to show that I have a bit of an old memory. "No professor I think I dont have any serious or major allergies thank you for asking though." He replied with very kind wording, I've never seen such a kind and polite young man with wonderful manners. "That's very good!" The vegimals then handed us our kelp kebabs on plates with some apple juice. "Thank you vegimals" I said, I turned to look at kwazii who was eating like there was no tomorrow, and peso who hadn't touched his food yet. "My boy, why aren't you eating you dinner?" I asked "don't we have to wait for everyone to have their food infront of them so we can all eat together? Or do you not do that here?" He replied. My goodness, I was right peso has very good table manners. "No we don't really do that here,but you have very lovely table manners. we'll don't just sit their with your stomach rumbling, dig Into these kelp kebabs!"

Peso pov

I looked at the kebab and took a price off it and put it in my mouth, the minute I tasted it I wanted to eat more. I grabbed the rest of my kebab and ate it piece by piece. "These kelp kebabs are really really good!" I exclaimed with joy as everyone looked at me and smiled." Dashi spoke up and asked "hey peso do you have any siblings?" She said trying to strike up a table conversation and some small talk. "I have 3 siblings and a lot of other relatives back at home. Let me see, there's pinto, pogo, pinata, grandma partita, aunty, pearl, my mum and dad, my uncle Peter, my 37 cousins and soon there will be 38 of them." I said feeling happy that I can talk freely here, but with a slight pit in my stomach because I left my relatives back at home, but there was not going back because now I'm an octonaut. Then I heard a loud "YEOW!" from kwazii "how do you keep up with all those relatives matey!?" He said astonished with how much family I have "easily! I love having a bit family, we all look out for each other!" And with that I had finished my kebab without really realising it when I went to eat another piece, my mouth came in contact with a stick with no food on it. I had been confused at where it went when dashi started to laugh "haha peso you've eaten it all already, do you want seconds we have 2 more kebabs left?" She said, i replied smiling at her gratefully and said "yes please!" I  with a gleaming smile spread wide across my face, she placed oe of her on my plate, kwazii had grabbed the last one with super speed. I had finished my kebab and so had everyone else "Thank you so much for the food, they were really delicious!" I said to everyone and immediately after I let out a 'HICCUP'. I looked at everyone and oppologised "I'm sorry I- 'HICCUP' didn't know I had eaten- 'HICCUP' so fast- 'HICCUP'!"

Barnacles pov

Peso came down with a sudden case of the hiccups because he ate too fast, I had the same problem when I was a cub. "Here peso drink some water." I said as I pushed a glass of freshly poured water towards him and he drank it all in one go. "I think my hiccups are gone now, thank you captain." He said. "It's quite alright peso we all get the hiccups every once in a while." I said explaining it was ok to have it sometimes.
"Alright octonauts we've all enjoyed our dinner, now I dosent look like there are any storms or problems now, so we can all go so the game pod for a game or movie night!" I said to everyone which was good because all their faces lit up, including peso. "Alright everyone looks like they want to have a game night so let's all go to the game pod."

Peso pov

Game night? I love game night! Me and my family would always shave a game night on Friday night after dinner! I was so happy that the octonauts do it here aswell! I wonder what game we're playing? Maybe monopoly or articulate?

I don't know what were gonna do but it sounds like a lot of fun!
