Barnacles pov

I woke up at 7:00 am like usual put on my uniform and started doing my basic stretches, the basic morning routine. I then went down to the kitchen and saw everyone there, except for peso. Since he told me he goes to bed at 10 and we finished the game of uno 1 hour and 5 minutes late he must have slept in. "Does anyone know where peso is?"I asked to everyone just trying to confirm that he was sleeping in. "I actually guess he slept in because I woke up at 6:30 and didn't see him, sorry" dashi replied since she was on the other side of pesos bedroom wall. "Alright then, I'll go get him, in the meantime you can all start eating." I said and with that I left to go grab peso. I went through to octochutr to his room and knocked on the door and said "Peso are you awake everyone's already down in the kitchen eating their breakfast?" I heard nothing in reply and went in myself.

I saw peso bundled in blankets with his nightcap fallen off his head and was on the floor and was hugging a fish plushie. I gently went up to him and shook him gently awake "Peso come in its morning, breakfast is ready." I said.

Peso pov

I found myself being shaken awake gently and opened my eyes rubbing them to get out the sleepiness. I then look up and saw the captain and then sat up and turned my head to the clock and said "I'm so sorry I didn't know what time we have to wake up, I'm sorry I over slept captain." I worried wondering in the captain would put a record on my tardiness "don't worry its fine, we went to bed pretty late anyway, so it's fine." I sighed in relief after what the captain said. "Well then I'll be down at breakfast see you there peso." Then he left. I then jumped out of bed but then stopped to think, I had missed my mom and relatives so much and its only been a day. I then pushed my negative thoughts aside and got dressed and rushed to the kitchen.

By the time I got there everyone had already started eating I had then quickly got to my seat where my untouched plate of food was and looked wt it still thinking about my family. Kwazii then looked up from gobbling his food and asked "Peso, matey why aren't you eating ye food?" I then snapped out of my mind and looked at him "oh sorry I was just thinking." I said and I had then picked up my fork and nibbled away at my pancake that we're were all having from breakfast. Then all of a sudden the captain heard a faint sound "help me somebody! I can't find my baby!" And another voice saying "don't worry darling we will find him soon"

I was a lobster family passing by.

Captain  barnacles then went to the window and asked "Excuse me but I heard someone say help, are you ok?" He asked "no, we've lost our child in this big reef!" The female lobser said, obviously panicked while her usband tried to calm her down. "Don't worry we will find your baby." And with that he sounded the octoalert

Barnacles pov

"Octonauts to the HQ!" A few seconds later everyone arrived. "Arlight we have 2 lobsters here who have lost their child and we all have to help look for it! Shellington you look in the gup d. Tweak go in the gup c with dashi, and bring the hover camera incase we need to look in small spaces. Peso and kwazii, come with me to the gup a. Octonauts, let's do this!" Everyone then went to the gups and had been departures to different parts of the reef to cover more ground. "So how do you feel about your first mission matey?"

Peso pov

I heard kwazii ask me something but I wasn't paying attention, so I didn't hear. "Sorry kwazii I wasn't paying attention could you repeat that please?" I asked hoping he though I was just distracted by looking for the baby lobster. "Are you ok matey, something bad stuck in the back of ye head?" Oh no, I'm fine just looking for the lobster." I replied quickly then heard something on the radio. "Captain! I've found the baby lobster but it was stuck in some rocks, don't worry about the rocks I removed them with some help from the gup d. It's xclaw is injured though so we need peso here." Shallington said over the radio " understood, we'll be there soon." The radio then cut off and he continued. "Peso are you ready?" He asked "yes I'm ready captain." I then grabbed my medical bag and put on my oxygen tank and activated my helmet. I jumped in and saw shellington already swimming towards me. "He's over here peso." He said hurriedly and I was being lead over to where the baby was. When I had seen its claw it was slightly a tint of red and looked at it with thurber inspection I dead diagnosed what the problem was. "It's simple, he only sprained it."  The lobster then looked at me with a scared expression. " Don't worry, I'm peso I help any creature who is hurt or sick, this won't hurt or take long just stay still for me." I said in hopes I had calmed it down, and I had, the baby then did as it was told and stayed still. I then took my bandages and wrapped it around 3 times fast. "Ha cha hoy ya!" Then the bandage was on. "Thank you for being a brave patient, here have a sticker." I placed a sticker on its bandage. "Come with me, the octonauts know where your family is." Then soon enough captain  barnacles, along with the mother and father lobster then came and rushed over to their child. "Oh my presious child, I've missed you so much!" The mother said. "Don't go walking off on your own its dangerous you cold get badly injured." The father said with worry and care in his voice rather than discipline.

"Thank you octonauts!" The parents said, and then we all watched them go away. I then started thinking again, what if my parents and family were worried about me. Would they be proud I took up the job of my dreams, or would they disprove because it was a dangerous job. I then felt I lump in my through and held back some tears that wanted cto come out, I was about to cry before barnacles said something. "Good job octonauts, and especially you peso. Thanks to your quick actions the lobsters claw is perfectly fine!" I though for a second and simply replied. "Oh, thank you captain, just doing my job." He looked at me with a worried expression. "Well then, octonauts you can go back to all your business, dosent look like there are any abnormalitie." Everyone else left but I stayed, just standing infront of the window.
The captain then came up to me and put a hand on my shoulder "it's ok peso, there all gone, now what's the matter. You can tell me." He said in a nice gentle tone and had a soft expression on his face. He bent down to my level and I silently sobbed into his shoulder while he rubbed my back in circles. "Now what's wrong peso?"He asked me. "I miss my family. im miss them all. So, so much. And seeing that lobster family reminded me of how worriedthey are about me." "It's ok peso, we all get home sick." He said "but that dosent mean we have to deal with those negative emotions on our own. You don't have to deal with them alone. You have all the octonauts." That part made me feel a little better, but he continued. "If you want, we can call your family on the screen in the launch bay. Well thats if you want to." I didn't need to think for that question. I filled my face off him and stared at him with my teary eyes. "Yes, oh yes please, I want to see them all again. I miss them." He smiled at me then stood up. "Well come on I'll show you how to call them."

And with that we went down the octochute to the launch bay. We went up to the screen and barnacles explained the prosses: first go to the icons and press on the icon of which octonaut and I'll with come up with their information. Then press the call button and select the icon of who you want to call. Press the green call button and then you can call that person. After explaining and doing the process the screen showed pesos family. "Hello, how does this thing work?" My mum said. "Mom dad, pinto, pogo, pinata! I've missed you so much!" I scream and they all laughed "we've missed you too sweetie. Have you been brushing your teeth, making your bed, eating your vegetables, being polite?" I laughed and replied. "Don't worry mom I've been doing all that, I'm perfectly fine, just missing home that's all." My mum smiled. "We've all been missing you too peso, your grandmother keeps asking if your doing fine every hour or so." She ended with a laugh. "Well don't worry mom I'm doing fine, it's only been a day but still. How have you been? How's aunty penelope? Isn't she dude to give birth soon?" I asked exited to hear the news. "She's been doing wonderfully fine peso, we now know it's going to be another boy, so don't worry most of your cousins want be girls if that's what your asking." I laughed and said "I'm just concerned about the baby, but i am happy it's going to be a boy." I smiled wide.

Barnacles pov

I looked from the side, happy peso wasn't home sick, anymore. I was also pleased to hear that there was being a new addition to the family. "Have the other octonauts been nice to you?" I hear pesos mum say. Peso though for 3 secknd but I inturruped "don't worry your son is doing perfectly fine, everyone's been nice and has helped taking care of him, you have nothing to worry about." I hear pesos mum sigh "phew, that's all and well than. Thank you for looking after my son captain barnacls." "Don't worry, your son has also been very well behaved." I said. "Well peso I have to get going, the dinner isnt going to cook itself now is it?" She said laughing. "Ok, bye mummy, I love you!" Peso said happily. "I love you too sweetie!"
And  with that the call ended.
I then turned to peso to see how he was doing. "Peso are you doing fine now?" I asked "I'm doing great captain!" I was happy because this time he wasn't half lying to me. "Well since your doing fine how about you try to operate one of the gups. It was the next think were going to teach you. Or rather it's tweak who's going to teach you." I said just making sure he's going to be fine for the next step. "Yes I ok captain, I'd like to try and ride one of the gups." He said and I smiled.

Peso pov

I wasn't feeling sad, and now my next step of being on the octopod is ride a gup. I'm super exited, but also kinda scared. Tweak is also going to be the one to teach me aswell so I hope I don't disappoint her more than I already have.
But still, I'm going to learn to drive a gup.

I'm finishing this story a couple minutes before going to school I'm kinda in a rush sorry is there were any grammar mistakes
