I sighed as I watched Alice drag Edward to the balloon pop game,
"Oh come on Edward! Have a little fun!!! You might be able to win your friend over there a prize! She would like that!" Alice teased,
He scoffed,
"Might win? Watch me!"
I blushed slightly. I had been eyeing the giant stuffed lion.
It reminded me of an old cartoon I saw when I was a kid...
Back then I didn't know much English...
It was called Lambert the sheepish lion.
In a way Lambert reminded me of Edward...
Gentle, but strong and brave when he needed to be...
When it came down to his family.I guess I zoned out cuz I felt a tap on my shoulder and whirled around, startled, and saw Edward towering over me, hands behind his back,
I tilted my head in confusion, he looked nervous.
"What?"
He then handed me the humongous lion stuffed animal,
I let out a tiny gasp despite myself,
"Edward I-"
"It's not that big a deal honestly... it was easy!" He said with a smirk,
"Rule number 96... aim..." he said with a wink
And I laughed,
"You DID pay attention when I made you watch movies with me!" I giggled. He just shrugged,
"I've been known to do that occasionally,"
"Well Lambert is adorable thank you!" I said, but then he did something totally unexpected,
He smiled gently,
"No... thank you... I haven't had this much fun in a long long time... Thanks for dragging me out here..."
"Edward let's go get on some rides next!" Alice pleaded,
"Okay okay..."
Then he leaned down and kissed my cheek,
"See you in a bit beautiful..."
I was stunned, holding my hand to my cheek in surprise as he and Alice walked away.
I sat down on a bench...
No... no I can NOT be falling for him...
I was no good...
It would never work...
"Ohh... what's the matter with me? You'd think I'd learn..."
(A/N: words in italics are her thoughts, ones in both italics and bold is her singing... I know... weird)I looked at them as they walked away, he turned his head slightly to look back at me and smiled and waved...
God he's so sweet...
Damn it snap out of it!
"If there's a prize for rotten judgement...
I guess I already won that...
No man is worth the aggravation...
That's ancient history been there done that!"
Who are you really kidding? He's the earth and heaven to you- you try to keep it hidden but I'm pretty sure he sees right through you, you know you can't conceal it- he knows how you feel and who you're thinking of!
"Oh no... no chance no way! I won't say it! No no!!!"
It's so obvious! You swoon you sigh why deny it anymore?
I rolled my eyes at my conscience...
"It's too cliche I won't say I'm in love!"
I lay on my back in the grassy field about 50 feet away from the carnival, enjoying the breeze, watching the clouds.
"I thought my heart had learned its lesson!
It feels so good when you start out...
My head is screaming get a grip girl-
Unless you're dying to rip your heart out!"
Why am I denying who I am and how I'm feeling,
I don't think they buy it-
If I don't watch out I'll hit the ceiling!
I could face it like a grown up...
But I can't bear to own up
That I got it bad...
"No chance no way... I won't say it no no..."
Just give up! Just give in!
Check the grin you're in love!
I smiled at Edward and Alice having the times of their lives out there, but then I frowned,
What was I doing?!?
"This scene won't play I won't say I'm in love!
You're way off base I won't say it!
Get off my case I won't say it!"
Just don't be proud... it's okay you're in love...
I leaned back and I felt something soft touch my finger,
I turned around and there was the stuffed lion, I smiled weakly,
At least out loud... I won't say I'm in love.
