Holograms of the past
Pasted onto building walls.
A painful reminder of what we'd built to leave behind.
A shameful reminder.
While disease spread rampant amongst the creatures
For there were no more humans to hone them.
When the only thing chosen was chosen by nature alone
Because we denied to care for it.
Caught in our own self-interests, we refused the reality
Thinking that it would block out the madness
But it simply was not so.
A vast emptiness, so full and thick with nothing
But smoke and damaged air, depleting those who consume it.
Everything crumbled would never rise again.
From out of the madness and rubble...there sparked a fire that could see.
And one such fire rose to realize how this had always been.
