We are late. So, I rush acting all tizzy. Alex told me to speed up, but I denied; adherence to traffic rules is not a choice, but an obligation. I eye sheer anxiousness on his face and that's exactly what I want. Pay the price for being lazy.

"What's so funny?" He asked while rubbing his sweaty hands off his pants. Maddie, on the other hand read the room quite well and choose to help me with my plan by opting silence, enjoying the obnoxious banging of his eardrums in the name of rock music.

"My inside jokes. Don't you worry, you will get to apperceive soon," I replied playfully.

In 12 minutes, we were at the university gate.

Anxiety made Alex have goosebumps. I catch him sweating like a literal pig. Finals are no joke.

He rushed out of the car holding Maddie's hand, shouting and waving me a goodbye before making a run for today's class. Before he can disappear in the college crowd, I shouted from the car, "Alex-ah*!"

"What?" He replied, turning back.

"Baby, it's 8:55..." I said, starting my car engine.

He turned Maddie's hand upside down to check the time on his wristwatch. I can only imagine his face when he shouted, "Omma," while I step on the acceleration.

I can sense my heart rate increasing and adrenaline rushing through my veins. This was fun.

Long drives on almost empty roads are all fun and exciting until you have to do it daily to reach your office. Sometimes it feels like I am rather out for city patrolling instead of for making businesses and cash.

As I drive my way to the office, I hark to the morning radio. While most songs are endearingly melodious, some of them were able to touch my soul hence joining my evergreen playlist. Among all the great piece, there is this meticulous paragon whose rhythm is cemented into my brain cells, running on an infinite loop. Funny enough, its name is still a mystery to my musical bone. I have to ask Sara for this masterpiece's name. I bet she's already hearkening on it.

City patrol was over as I finally made to my office only to spot Mr. Alfonso's car in the parking area. After signing the contract of being the silent partner of our consultancy firm, he rarely shows up in the office without any prior notice. I make a mental check to cross-verify that the error doesn't lie on my part.

Entering the office, I notice the new intern, Ms. Ayesha, wishing me good morning. I reply to her greetings with a little head-bow. She's a good girl; a hardworking and driven candidate, a combo we rarely encounter nowadays. As I step in further, my presence become obvious to other employees too, who in respect greet me with, "Good morning." I reply them curtly and walk straight to my cabin.

My assistant, Ms. Green, greets me and informs me about Alfonso's presence.

"Did he informed before coming?"
