Scott did not know where he was; he had seen the supernatural many a times, and technically died three times, but he had no idea where he was.

Then trees appeared, out of nowhere, and two toddlers ran past Scott, into the forest. Where were they going? Scott couldn't help but wonder. He felt compelled to follow them, even as a slightly-older girl raced past him.

"You guys!" shouted the girl, who looked about nine. "Dads said not to go this deep into the forest! You need to get back!"

Scott nodded, approving of this girl's lifestyle.

"Guys!" the girl continued calling, her nose lifted up to the air like a wolf's, in human form. "Guys!" She paused, cursing for a moment. "I wish this forest wasn't so full of scents."

The girl was soon approached by a wolf, snarling and snapping. The girl bared her teeth, snapping in return, and the wolf cowered.

"Who are you?" wondered the girl. "My name is - , what's yours?" Scott couldn't hear the girl's name.

The wolf sat back on its haunches, not replying due to its form.

"I'll go get my dad, he's an alpha," declared the girl. "He can de-transform you. Would you like that?"

The wolf slowly dipped its head in a nod.

"Good, but first can you help me find my siblings, please?"

The wolf nodded, and together the girl raced off with the wolf.

"Scott?" someone whispered against his lips, and Scott sat bolt upright, the dream fading even as he tried to remember it. The girl had seemed so familiar...

"Isaac," he murmured, recognizing Isaac's soft pink lips.

"You idiot, why did you give me so much blood?" whispered Isaac, sitting beside Scott on the exam table.

"Because you needed it," retorted Scott, making himself sit up and face Isaac. "Where's Jade?"

"Well, considering both her dads looked like death, she's been staying at the house, with Melissa," Malia informed them. "We've kept them updated, don't worry."

"How long was I - "

"Two days," sighed Deaton, entering the room. "We were very worried about you, Scott."

"When can we go home?" asked Scott.

Isaac kissed him again. "Anytime you want, so long as you stay in bed," he informed Scott. "Doctor's orders."

"All right...can I do other things, in bed?" Scott asked, glancing towards Isaac, who blushed.

"No," Deaton said sharply; Scott groaned audibly, and Isaac blushed harder.

As everyone slowly filed out of Deaton's extra room, Isaac fiddled with Scott's slightly messed-up white undershirt, the same one he'd been wearing two days ago when he'd run out of the house with Isaac in his arms.

"So, you're, um, you're my mate," Isaac mumbled, not meeting Scott's eyes. Scott didn't want to read Isaac's chemo signals; it felt like cheating, at this point, not being able to tell whether Isaac was disappointed that Scott hadn't told him, or angry, or something else entirely. So Scott just studied Isaac's face, trying to tell, before deciding just to tell him the truth.

"I was going to tell you," Scott said quietly. "I was, really, I just - everything was happening so quickly, and I wanted to talk to Jade about it first, and then I didn't even know how you felt about mates..."
