The night did not take long to fall and make the sky a dark blue, covered by many shining stars. Yet their glow and beauty were not admired or related to in the Gusu Lan Sect. For in the Cultivation chamber, laid unconscious on the best the famous Grand Master Lan.

After the attack from the sword, he was unable to recover despite all the medicine and help he was given. Laying on the bed, the junior disciples all around. Holding his hand and checking his energy was Wangji, eyes closed and deep in concentration.

By his side sat Jia, who was busy using her mother's clan technique to sense his spiritual energy and send some of hers, in hopes of healing or helping him. However, so far nothing worked and she lacked her mother's natural healing talent.

"Hanguan Jun," one junior disciple asked, breaking the silence existing in the room. "Acupuncture and medicinal pills, all failed. Even the Lei technique doesn't do anything. What...what should we do?"

Wangji stayed quiet, focusing and so did Jia but both did hear him. However, chose not to answer yet.

"Hanguan Jun. The sword ghost was infected by the spirit of the amulet" another disciple started, bringing up what was concluded once the purification finished.

"Did the Yilling Patriarch come back?" Jingyi asked the one question that was on everyone's mind. On everyone's that were not aware of the truth.

"If so, what should we do?" Another disciple asked, turning to his fellow friends.

"But the Yilling Patriarch has been dead for over 16 years" another one reminded them. "Could he really have possessed another body?"

The last question was the drop that spilt the glass, making Wangji and Jia open their eyes at the same time. As if they were one person in two different bodies, their heads turned and gave one look that said it all. With serious expressions on their faces, Uncle and Niece showed that the topic they had started was not one they wanted to be continued.

Immediately, the junior disciples looked down; fully ashamed. They had crossed the line and gossiping around like that, was not one of the etiquettes of the Clan they proudly represented. He then looked at Jia who had stopped working. Leaving out a sigh of exhaustion, she shook her head slightly.

Wangji realizing, gave a small nod and turned to his grandfather.

"You may leave. Go get some rest" he said, his tone as commanding and not giving them a chance to say anything back.

All the disciples bowed in respect and then retreated from the room, leaving the three relatives alone in the room.

"Uncle" Jia started once they were alone, seeing and knowing he was hurting inside.

He was closer to the Grand Master than she was, and he never liked to be left responsible for someone close to him getting hurt. Especially, when he could not reverse the situation in any way. His past had been filled with such moments and situations that he had gotten enough.

"Go get some rest. We will speak in the morning" this was a sign to tell her that he wanted some time alone with his grandfather.

In addition, Jia truly needed rest. She had used a big amount of spiritual energy to help with the cleansing and also to try and heal the Grand Master. She had her limits, even if she tried to ignore them and many times act if she had not reached them.

The girl gave a nod, leaving some air from her nose. She knew she would not be able to change his mind and she knew she was tired. If she wanted to be able to help more in any way, she needed her rest.

She stood up and gave a deep bow to her uncle before she left the room. Closing the rice door behind her, she noticed that Wuxian was standing and waiting. He heard her and turned around, only to be met with a tired smile of hers.
