Chapter 3

I finished my shower and I heard someone hitting the buzzer to be let in. Must be Dan, Tyler and Nora, I still can’t believe they asked me and Cloud to be her godparents. Still I’m glad I get to be part of her life. Nora Jenna Alexander, her name always had nice ring to it. Thank goodness she didn’t get Dan’s last name. It would have just sounded weird.

As I was getting dress I could hear her giggling, must have spotted C.J. Those two always play together even if he is older, C.J can’t help but still be a kid at heart. With two giggling filled the room, the door buzzed again.

I had just finished putting on my last article of clothing and ran downstairs to greet them since I couldn’t buzz them in. As I reached the last step, a knocked came, “I got it,” I yelled to Luca who was in the kitchen with Dan and Tyler and who was about to get up from his seat.

I guess dinner is done. I open the door to reveal Hopper and December right beside them was Stryker and just behind him was Keagan and Maddie. Weird, did they get married or something. Ok neither the time nor the place Zeke.

“Come in,” I open the door wide and step aside to let them in. I had bad feeling something was going to happen, but I pushed that feeling away and continue on with how I usually get to know new employees to the company.

“And make yourself a home.” Luca came out from the kitchen wiping his hands, “dinner is almost ready. C.J come and set the plates,” he called out to cloud who was sitting in front of the TV with Nora playing a video game.

“Can I help? I wanna help,” Nora went running up to Luca and tugging his hand.

“Sure you can sweetie,” he led her to the table and hand her two plates, “Cloud you better start helping or won’t be eating.”

“I’m coming, I’m coming,” he put the game controller down and started his way over to Nora.

“And that’s what he said,” Dan said from the couch and received a slap to the back of his head from Tyler. They got up from the couch and I’m assuming to help out or clean up.

I shook my head because I just remembered that I have four other guests. I turned around to see Keagan looking at Tyler with a shocked looked with that his eyes turn to hatred. I started to look back and forth between the two since I saw Tyler having a confused and shocked look on his face still. Dan looked anxious and nervous when he saw Keagan.

What the heck is going on?

“What the hell is with you?” Hopper voiced what I was exactly thinking. I thought he would say ‘nothing’ and want the subject dropped, but I was wrong.

“What the hell you are doing? And with that thing,” Keagan pointed at Nora. It was like he hated the sight of her and Tyler.

Tyler finally came from his shocked stage and stared at Keagan with more hatred then I ever saw before. He was about to say something, but I intervened, “Mr. Alexander I would appreciate you not calling my goddaughter a thing, if you have problem with the simple matter. Then there’s the door and you can consider yourself unwelcome here and the company.”

Everyone stopped to look at me with shocked or unbelievably faces that I would say such a thing. What they don’t know is that, I really am in the one to inherit the company. I just wanted to hold off on telling the whole company and the press. I felt I wasn’t ready and I was afraid of what people would say about a young owner of a company. Meaning I have no business or not enough experience to run it.

“Zeke I think your overreacting to the situation,” Luca was trying keyword here is trying to calm me down. It won’t work.  

“I don’t care if I’m overreacting, I invited them to my home and he,” I pointed at Keagan, “dares to disrespect my family.”

The four who stood in the entrance all looked at me with wide eyes and slightly hanging mouths open. I always considered Dan, Tyler, Nora and Luca part of my family with Cloud. To me that’s all needed. If I haven’t mentions this before, I cut off all ties with my father and his family. I just felt like I don’t belong with them and anymore. Even with my father’s extended family.

“I’m sorry for offending you and your family,” Keagan was rubbing his leg and grit his teeth. I guess Maddie must have kicked him.

“You shouldn’t be apologizing to me, but to the one you insulted and what I really want to know is how do you two know each other?”

“I apologize, Tyler,” he spoke through gritted teeth, “and how we know each other is because....”

“Because we are half-brothers,” he spoke before Keagan can even finish his sentence and leaving the room in silence.

ok i might have notice something here, but if anyone remembers Tyler's last name from the other book to let  you know i changed it to Alexander. right no i'm all confused.
