Chapter 10

“Hello Mr. Kato speaking,” he picked up on the first ring.

“So how is his family treating you?” I was smirking wishing I could see how it went down.

“Zeke?”

“No it’s the magical miracle man that hands out free bank loans to business men,” I replied back sarcastically, “yeah it’s me. Listen I need you to come to Le Plaza Hotel.”

“Le Plaza Hotel for? Wait isn’t that hotel here?”

“You know it’s a good thing you’re on holiday vacation because you’re not that bright today. Either that or C.J’s mental stability has been rubbing off on you.” I could hear a door opening and closing.

“You’re lucky that I can get away,” he slammed a car door shut.

“Yeah, yeah you better make it that little diner on Fisher Avenue instead,” I just got hungry and not to mention it’s the least the last place anyone would go.

“You owe me,” then he hung up.

“So what made you decide to come back?” Rikyu took a sip of his coffee he had order when he got to the diner. It was far in the outskirts of the town/city. Hardly anybody comes here unless they came from fishing, hunting or sliding for the winter. It seems that most kids today don’t like sliding.

“My decision needs to be handed in before the ended of the year and it got me thinking about them. Whether or not I’ll ever be able to make up for the lost times if I do say yes. If I say no then it might just stay the same,” I took a bite of my usual, which was a loaded cheeseburger with fires and gravy.

“So you’re having a hard time deciding rather or not to take over, for sure I would have thought would’ve said ‘yes’ by now. Not decide at the last minute.”

“What can I say I like to keep people guessing?”We sat there just aimlessly talking until I heard the door open I couldn’t see who it was since my back was to the door.

“Can we come back tomorrow and bring Lilly with us?” I heard a young kid’s voice. The next voice stopped me cold. I looked up wide eye at Rikyu who looked highly amused by the situation and was looking back forth to the door and to me.

“I’ll think about it, but for now let’s just have some food I’m hungry,” Stryker went walking by while I hid my face off to the side trying not to be notice.

“Can we leave,” I whispered to Rikyu.

“I haven’t finished my coffee yet and you clearly didn’t finish your dinner,” he pointed to my half eaten plate of food.

“I don’t care, can we just leave?” I whispered yelled at him.

“Why don’t you take yourself?”

“Because I didn’t rent a car and not to mention I got here by taxi,” I sunk more into my seat when I notice that Stryker was went to sit two booths away from us. He sitting in the direction I was sitting in, getting a good view of me.

After a couple of minutes of me whining to Rikyu he got fed up that he got up from the booth, but not before letting me hide in front of him so I can sneak out. He gave me a ride to the hotel and I asked him not to tell C.J anything about this and that I’ll try work up the courage to go see them tomorrow.

Only four more days to Christmas. I have no presents for them, then again I think me coming home should be good enough for everyone. What the hell am I going to say, never mind who am I going to see first. I just found out from Rikyu that uncle Drew moved back, the twins both have a family living here and that aunt Storm is staying at my dad’s house. Not to mention that Luca and Liam are staying there as well. Great, just great I think I’m going to take a shower to clear my head.
