Chapter 11

“Ok you two, three more times down the hill then we’re going,” Stryker called out to them. I can’t believe I spent the whole day with them.  We had races in teams and then single of course Stryker won every time since he was heavier then us. You think that the lightest would win, but no.  (I really don’t know I never took physic)

After awhile Stryker and I got cold so went to warm up in the car. He told me that my uncle Drew, his dad, my dad and my dad his husband went to the cabin for awhile, something about too much chaos in the houses.

Now we are standing outside in the cold.

“Hey can I ask you something, you don’t have answer if you don’t want to,” Stryker spoke quietly as if someone might over hear us.

“Yeah sure.”

“When we were together how come you never told me about how you felt?” that I wasn’t expecting.

I was panicking inside my head and decided to tell him the truth.

“I never knew how. I mean you were a player at school so I naturally thought I was just a fling to you. I was so confused I just wanted everything to be normal and you kissed that girl it really felt like my whole world just stopped. Like maybe I wasn’t meant to be with anyone. Sure I was with Luca, but I really didn’t love him. I care for him, but never loved him. There was always something stopping me from returning his love. I thought the feelings I had for you went away, but” everything I had bottled up came pouring out and I realized something, “sorry I’m talking too much.”

“No, no at least this time I know what the hell is going inside that head of yours. You know back then I was young and stupid, but I never felt like such complete idiot for doing what I did. I thought that a simple sorry would cover everything, but I know now it doesn’t I hurt you too many times. First for cheating, then for saying that no one loves you, but I was the big idiot who fell for you first. Especially when I confessed ‘I loved you’ and you didn’t say it back. I felt hurt and angry,” he laughed a humourless laugh, “I knew it’s probably pointless asking, but if you’re willing to give us another chance maybe we can go on date tonight.” He looked up at me with hopeful eyes.

“If it didn’t work when we were teenagers, what makes this time any different?” I just had to ask if, I know I hurt him with these words.

“Maybe because we are adults and we grew up and we also learned from our mistakes,” he spoke with know-it-all- attitude, “So you want to give it another try?”

“If you are then so am I,” I let my breath out which I have been holding in.

“So it that a definite ‘yes’ or?”

“It’s a definite yes and just don’t let my family or anyone for that matter know that I’m back in town,” I had to inform just in case he wanted to take me to an expensive restaurant.

“Yeah I kind of figure that, when you were standing outside your cousin’s house and shooing me away so you can work up some courage. Not to mention the time before that you trying to hide in front of Rikyu at the diner,” he laughed a little at the end.

“You saw that,” I scratch the back of my head from embarrassment.

“Don’t worry about it this time when we go there we’ll being sitting in the same booth and this time you’re not going to hide from me,” I blushed a little from how he said it.

“Hey we are on our last run, but we wanna race down. Expect this time it’s me and Lilly against you and Zeke,” Danny spoke out of breath.

“Ok you’re on little man, prepare to eat snow,” Stryker grabbed the other sled and put it down. The other two where all ready to go down, so I went to sit on the front seat of the toboggan.
