One night, as I was chilling at home and watching Netflix again when suddenly, a notification on my phone popped up. The message was from Daniel himself, asking me to go over to his house because he had something to tell me.

Curious about what he wanted to do at such a late hour, I furrowed my brows. Even so, I still sent him back a message saying that I would be right there. I told my parents that I had to see Daniel for an urgent matter before setting off to his house.

Upon reaching his house, I rang the doorbell and Daniel greeted me. "Hey there, sorry for calling you so late. Come on in." He beckoned me into his house.

As I sat down at his dining room table, I asked him, "So... what did you want to tell me?"

Daniel chuckled. "Oh, we'll talk about that later. Wanna have a drink? My parents aren't in, and Ashley and Clement went over to a sleepover at their friends' house."

With that, Daniel reached into the cupboard, retrieving two bottles of alcohol. "Sure," I smiled and nodded along.

Daniel poured me a cup of Apple Cider, which was a rather mild drink and I could tolerate it. He sat down next to me. He drank a few sips from his own cup, and started off the conversation with something lighthearted.

While drinking, we laughed and chatted merrily. Then, came the topic that he wanted to talk about.

"Felicia, did you know that I actually wanted to break up with Jessica, even though she broke up with me first?" Daniel rattled. At this point, he was getting slightly drunk. I only drank one cup of alcohol, so I was coping just fine.

I looked at him, slightly shocked. "But... why?" I questioned him curiously. "Ah yes, that brings me to my next point," Daniel said.

"Felicia, do you remember... that time when I taught you how to play my piano piece?" My eyes widened and I blinked. How did he... remember this?

"Ah, I know, it was ages ago, and you're probably wondering why I still remember it. Well then, do you remember the time when you fell onto my bed, and I fell on top of you? That was such an embarrassing moment years ago, haha, " Daniel laughed.

I tried to say something, but my mouth suddenly turned dry, and I kept silent as I continued to listen. What was he trying to say?

"Or... do you remember, on Danielle's birthday when I... tried to kiss you?" Daniel's expression turned more serious, but he kept a sad smile on. I gulped.

"That night after prom when we danced to Letter? Or the night on our overseas trip when I... hugged you from the back and... kissed you?" Daniel stared deep into my eyes. I said nothing, but stared back at him, my face growing hotter and hotter every second.

"Well... would you like to guess, when was the moment I saw you as a girl and truly fell for you?" Daniel asked. If possible, my eyes widened even more.

Was he... confessing to me??

My nails dug into my hands and I clenched my fists even tighter. My heart was racing at an inhumane speed.

Thump, thump.

"Was it when... you tried to kiss me?" I mumbled softly, unable to meet Daniel in the eye.

"Nah, it was way before that. I fell for you ever since the time I fell onto you. No pun intended here," Daniel tried to crack a joke to lighten the atmosphere.

I bit on my lip as I felt the prickle behind my eyes and the tears gathered together.

"Felicia, I just realised that... I never loved Jessica from the beginning. I was just... trying to make myself stop liking my best friend. I didn't want to lose you and our friendship. That's why I found it so hard to control my emotions on those days. What if you didn't like me? What if... it was just a one-sided love? Would you still remain friends with me, or would you cut ties with me? After the times I tried to kiss you or actually kissed you, I was always so scared that you would not be friends with me anymore," Daniel sniffled, rubbing away the tears that were spilling out from his eyes.

I didn't know what to do. I was in too much shock. I gripped the hem of my shirt even tighter as I took in a deep breath.

"Daniel, I would... never leave you alone," I comforted him, taking his hands in mine and stroking it.

"Felicia, I... really, really, with all my heart, love you. Do you... love me too?" Daniel whispered, his big and wet eyes gazing back at me with so much love. Upon his gaze, I felt like melting down instantly.

I remained silent for a moment. After I did not answer, Daniel forced a smile and said painfully, "It's alright, you don't need to say anything. I was prepared for this anyway-"

"I..." I forced out a word, cutting off Daniel.

His eyes travelled back up, hope reflected in them. "I... love you too," I confessed.

Daniel's eyes widened and he froze for a while, dumbfounded. His mouth fell agape and he blinked. "R... Really?" he questioned in shock.

As if that wasn't enough, I gripped his hands tightly and replied, "Yes, I love you... not as a friend, but a man." I mustered up the courage to say that. "I liked you... ever since that time when you taught me to play the piano. I... loved you for a long time... but I kept trying to deny my feelings because... I didn't want to destroy this beautiful friendship. I thought that I wasn't ready, but before I realised it, it was too late. You already had Jessica, and I thought I had lost my chance. Sorry, Daniel, for taking so long," I apologised, a tear trickling down.

Daniel seemed to be relieved, and he smiled the widest grin ever. "It's okay Felicia, it's all okay now," Daniel comforted me.

He lifted his hands to my head and caressed it lightly. I shivered at his touch but this time, I did not refuse it. Daniel inched closer to me, and he cupped my face in both of his hands, bringing my forehead against his.

"Can I... kiss you now?" he breathed against my face. I could feel his hot breath against my face.

"Yes," I nodded. We stared into each other before we blinked a few times and slowly closed our eyes. Daniel's hands gently brought my face closer to his, until our noses were barely touching each other.

We stayed there for a while, and we could feel our breathing against each other. Daniel's lips brushed against mine. That touch of his lips was so soft and delicate.

Then, he leaned in and closed the gap between our lips. It was a slow kiss.

A tear rolled down my cheek, as my hands travelled up Daniel's shirt and I wrapped my arms around his neck, bringing him even closer.

We continued like that for what seemed like an eternity. Finally, we broke away, gasping for air. Daniel then noticed that I was crying.

With his gentle touch, he brushed away the tear on my cheek, whispering, "Don't cry," I laughed as I took his face into my hands, leaning in to kiss him once more.

Although I could tell that Daniel was a bit shocked at this, he still continued. It was a more passionate kiss this time. It was more fierce, with us melting into each other.

Daniel stood up from his chair and I followed along. As we continued kissing, he guided me to his room. Once we got to his room, he threw me onto his bed. I laughed merrily as Daniel jumped onto it.

"Can you stay the night?" Daniel asked me. I found it so hard to resist his offer that I grabbed my phone. "Let me just text my mother first..."

With that, I sent a message to her saying that I would not be coming home that night and told them to sleep first.

After that, Daniel wrapped his arms around my tummy and started to kiss me on my neck. It was really tingly but it felt good.

That night, we fell asleep in each other's arms.
