"Beware all who pass by,
seeking the power to control the when
ex nihilo omnia
non semper creditis quod vidisti"
"This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down."
"What does that mean?" Lucy spoke perplexed.
"Oh! Oh! I know, its a monster! Gnaws iron, slays kings devours all things, its definately a monster." Edward chimed in.
"Its a riddle for opening the door," Lucy said paying no attention to Edward theorizing a new alloy of all the monsters he saw in his video games.
"Maybe its some kind of weapon hidden here whose name is the answer to this enigma." Adam reciprocated.
"Yeah who knows, but we don't have much time, somebody can see us." I reminded everyone.
"Time ....... Time! Time is the answer!," Lucy jumped in enthusiasm, "Rick you are a genius! Time devours all, gnaws iron, slays kings, ruins towns, Time!"
Edward again chimed in, " Ah see I knew it from the start, told ya it was time but ya all didn't listen."
Lucy again ignoring his little brother took out her wand and wrote the words time in atel language, the language of the ancient runes and magic folk {which I knew a little now because of the not so short guide to magical creatures}.
The runes blazed, the wall gave way to an archway. We started walking an suddenly Lucy grabbed me by the collar. I was just about to fall into a fathomless pit. I retreated. There was a blazing fire down in the pit.
Lucy took her wand and sent an extinguishing spell but nothing happened.
"Ah! It doesn't seem to work!" Lucy bewailed.
"non semper creditis quod vidisti" Adam again said suddenly from my back so that my heart was about to fall into the fire pit.
"Thats got to stop dude, not cool." I spoke seeing Simon laugh.
"The words mean you can't always believe what you see, .............. maybe its an illusion." Adam said absorbed in thought.
"Well only one way to test the theory!" I exclaimed, and jumped in the fathomless fire pit of death.
Yup should have definately thought that one out.
And that was the end of the great Rick Walker..........
I jumped to my death. People occasionally jump to their deaths without thinking right? But I stopped mid air. I was standing on solid ground, solid invisible ground just about five feet below the jump to death point.
" Yes, looks can be deceiving, what are ya all waiting for?" I called to the stunned faces above.
We walked into straight into the wall ahead into platform nine and three quarters. Ok just kidding, there was a long and wide passageway depicting various murals.
