On this very special day Shri Radha Rani, the ruler of Shri Krishna's heart, was born. We are all familiar with their divine and eternal love.

But do you know why do we say the name of Radha before Krishna ? Do you know the story behind Radhe-Radhe ?
Here's a story from Braj-bhoomi :
Krishna had given Radha a parrot, Shukdev Paramhans he was called. This bird's life and mind oscillated between Radha and Krishna, between longing and love. He lived with Radha till her last moments and delivered the her messages to everyone later.

So once Radha taught Shukdev Paramhans the phrase 'Krishna-Krishna', the parrot learned it and flew all over the Braj-Bhoomi chanting the lord's name.
Soon everyone in the Braj-Bhoomi also started chanting 'Krishna-Krishna' but our Supreme Lord became saddened by it and no one knew why.
So one day Narad Muni came to him, and asked the reason for his sadness. Radha who was just passing by decided to listen and hid behind a tree.
Krishna then expressed the reason for his sadness, he said that he is sad because everyone is chanting his name but no one is chanting Radha's name and he doesn't like it that way.
When Radha rani came to know about the reason for his beloved's sadness she quickly went home and taught her parrot, Shukdev Paramhans, the phrase 'Radhe-Radhe'.
Again the Parrot flew all over the Braj-Bhoomi chanting her name and similarly as earlier all the people also started chanting 'Radhe-Radhe' making Krishna joyful.
This is a sweet story from one of the Braj-bhoomi folktales.
FUN FACT : It is believed that while chanting Shri Radha Rani's name, when you say 'Ra' you catch Krishna's attention, and when you say 'dha', he is so overwhelmed with happiness that he comes running to you.
