Pranipat ! Pranipat !
Today we will be looking at why Karn's death was actually fair.
I will give proofs from BORI CE, to prove my point but keep in mind, that in the text no where it is written who died fairly or who died unfairly.
The description of their deaths are given, and we are smart enough to come to an conclusion about who died fairly or unfairly.

Before we begin we must all know the fact that Karn was infact the student of Dronacharya.
Karn learnt a lot from Dronacharya except for Brahmastra, because Dron didn't perceive Karn worthy of such a deadly weapon.
Karn learnt Brahmastra from Bhagwaan Parshuram after lying, due to which he got a curse.
But as you can see Parshuram bhagwaan cursed him to forget Brahmastra only and not his entire knowledge of weaponry.
Now let's come to the 17th day of Kurukshetra war, the end moments of it.
When Arjun summons Roudrastra, Karn's chariot gets submerged on the earth.
It was then that Karn jumps down from the chariot to take it out and asks Arjun to wait for a while.
But Paramaatma Shri Krishna was having none of it thus he reminds Karn of his bad deeds and asks why does he remember Dharma now when all his life he supported Duryodhan's evil deeds and even became part of it.
Now hearing all this Arjun became Angry BUT it wasn't him who attacked first. It was Karn.
Despite the curse of Parshuram, Karn seemed to remember Brahmastra which is contradicting but it doesn't matter much here because even if he did forget it would've been Brahmastra only and not the rest of his weapons.
So to counter Brahmastra, Arjun counters it as shown above but through which weapons, it isn't specified.
Arjun then shoots the weapon, 'beloved of fire god', which is Agneyastra, Karn counters it with 'a Varuna weapon', Varunastra.
They fight for a while and then Arjun summons Anjalika-astra.
It isn't specified as to how this weapon killed Karn, but because it's Anjalika-astra we can say that he was probably beheaded, cause that's the power of this weapon.
Now if you have noticed, Karn didn't die trying to take out the wheel of his chariot, neither did Arjun attack him first.
Karn died fighting till his last breath and hence I think his death was fair.
TV serials would show false facts mostly for entertainment, so it's important for you to know real vs reel. Go for the authentic texts, cause Mahabharat will make more sense because of it, you will understand it's teaching better in this way.
Because showing Karn's death to be unfair, showing his life to be unfair, raises a question against Paramatma as to why he was so unfair towards one person without any reason. This shows Paramatma to be biased, which isn't true.
