A few 16-17-year-old high schoolers had teleported to a place. A place, which, technically, seems to be just a bright, blue dome that surrounds them. No escape. No doorway. Not a single spot or area to escape. In their sight, anyway.
Well duh. They're in a "magical dome" after all.
"What the- where are we?!" Kaito asked in pure shock as soon as he realized where they were. "And why are we trapped in a... dome?"
"Maybe Monokuma teleported us here!" Kokichi said with eyes shining.
"No, there's no possible way Monokuma sent us here," Maki pointed out as she rolled her eyes. "Not all of us are here. Someone must've chosen who should be here so we can play their game. Besides, I don't think Monokuma would ever think of teleporting us to a magical dome without a proper reason."
"... not to mention he can't be the one who teleported us here," Kokichi mumbled.
"What are you talking about, are you saying we're here to do something they want us to do?!" Kaito screeched as he tried to punch the dome. All he got was an electric shock and he moved his fist away in pain.
"Kaito!" Shuichi cried out. "Are you okay?"
"Hhgh! Y-yeah. Just a moment..." Kaito tried his best to reduce the pain by slightly rubbing his non-electrocuted hand onto his electrocuted hand. "Don't worry about me!"
"Alright. We have me, Kaito, Kokichi, Shuichi..." Maki trailed off before continuing. "... yeah, that's it. Four of us in total." She looks at her surroundings. "It appears we're in an inescapable dome."
"I just said that, Maki-Roll! Ow! God my hand..."
Kokichi groaned. "I'm bored already~ what's the point of bringing us here if nothing's going to happen?"
Shuichi nodded in agreement. "There must be something for us."
Kaito finally stopped rubbing on his hand and sighed in relief. Then his face turned serious as he cupped his hands around his mouth.
"Where are we??!!!" he started shouting at the dome. "Show yourself!"
"Do you wanna die? Come out!" Maki shouted along with him.
'You guys are really going for it, huh?' Shuichi thought as he awkwardly stared at the two. Kokichi went up to him with his arms behind his head. Shuichi noticed him and took a step back. Kokichi stopped once he was at a reasonable distance.
"For a detective like you," he said as he gave Shuichi a piece of folded paper. "I found this near my feet. Think you should read it and see what the problem is."
"Did you read this?" Shuichi asked, raising a brow. Kokichi smirked. "Nah~ I didn't. I just thought I should bring it to you."
Shuichi sighed. Right now was not the time to think if he was lying or not. Either way, he unfolded the paper and started reading it. There wasn't much to read.
"Find any route to get out of the dome. I assure you, you could really use extra eyes to find it. It's not easy finding one by yourself."
Kokichi glanced over Shuichi's shoulders. "Ooh~ a hidden route to escape the dome! How fun!"
"You think finding a route is fun?" Maki asked Kokichi with a glare. She gave up after attempting to shout to find anything. "The dome is big and wide. And once you touch the dome, it electrocutes you."
"Have you guys ever thought of checking the floor?" Kaito asked. "I think there might be a hidden doorway or something that could possibly lead us out of the dome."
"Before finding it," Kokichi said. "What are we going to do once we're outside the dome?" He puts his arms down to his sides. "They can't let us escape that easily."
Shuichi nodded again. "There are no other clues yet, so let's split and find the doorway. Once we do, we'll think of something once we're outside of here." Maki and Kaito started going in opposite directions, while Kokichi stayed in the same spot with Shuichi. He notices this and raises a brow again.
Kokichi noticed the stare and turned to him. "I want to investigate the center of the dome," he stated. "It might be possible that there is a hidden doorway somewhere in the middle below our feet."
Shuichi thought about it. "Seems fair enough. I'll search around with Maki and Kaito." He split the distance between them and started his search.
No.
In any type of situation, there's no possible way Kokichi can be this calm.
Is he confident that they'd find a route?
After a while of searching, the dome started flickering.
Kaito ran back to the center. "Guys, I don't know why, but now the dome is moving, too!"
"The dome is moving?" Maki scoffed before realizing. "Oh wait. Nevermind. It is moving. It's actually shrinking." Shuichi tensed up.
The dome is shrinking?
Kokichi had found the route, causing the dome to shrink and flicker. It was a passageway, not really at the center, but was in the direction where Kaito was searching.
"Let's go~!" Once the passageway opens up fully, it appears as a slide going downwards to who-knows-where. And Kokichi was the one who slid down the slide first. "Whee~!"
"We shouldn't lose him!" Kaito said as he slid down next. Shuichi was next before Maki was the last. The slide ride down took 2 minutes, but Kokichi didn't care about how long it took to reach the end before landing on a trampoline with his butt. He bounced off the trampoline and landed on solid ground. It took 2 seconds before Kaito accidentally landed on his back. Shuichi being next, and Maki last. Both of them landed on their backs.
"Dang, I didn't expect you three to land on your backs!" Kokichi laughed as he got up, patting his butt. "I was the only one who landed differently!"
"Who the fridge cares- OW!" Kaito growled before he yelped in pain. "I think my back went out..."
Shuichi slowly got up as he groaned in pain. "What a painful landing..."
Maki stood up as if she never felt the pain -though she did- and looked around. "There's another doorway," she says, pointing ahead. There stood a door. A door with stone eyes carved into it, which is bulging out.
"I'd rather not open the door..." Kaito groaned as he failed to get up. "Guys, help?"
"Nah, I'd pass."
"K-Kokichi!"
"What??? We don't have anything to help his back!"
Maki touched the door. No aura. No presence. Just the door freezing cold in her touch. She retreats her hand and turns around. "I'll open the door."
"Wait, Maki!" Shuichi said as he ran to her and grabbed her wrist. "Are you not aware of what's going on? Besides, what if something happened to you-"
"You want to die?"
Silence. Shuichi loosened his grip on Maki as she slowly opened the door. The inside was just a black room. But as she opened it halfway, a light suddenly flashed out, nearly blinding all 4 of them. It shined so bright, too bright, that all 4 of them couldn't open their eyes.
As they opened their eyes slightly, the light was gone. They all opened their eyes fully as they adjusted their vision.
"Man, that nearly hurt my eyes!"
"I thought I was going to get an epilepsy seizure!"
"It wasn't flashy, Kaito. No dou..."
Silence. They looked at where the door was.
Soon realizing that not only the light was gone, but the door was also gone.
Including Shuichi.
