"Oh tell me, tell me, tell me how to turn your love on

You can get, get anything that you want

Baby, just shout it out, shout it out

Baby, just shout it out, yeah" Harry Styles' voice rang out through the studio. I was finally getting the beginning of Kiss You down.

I had been working on the dance for hours and I just needed Harry's solo down and I'd have it finished. Right as I was finishing the part I was struggling with, my phone rang and threw me off. I switched off the music and looked at my iPhone to see who was calling. It was my best friend, Lexi.

"Dammit, Lexi. I finally was getting Harry's solo and you called and messed me up." I ranted and she took no regard for what she had done.

"Brooke, I seriously don't care right now! Guess what my parents got us for our birthday!" She screeched into the phone, causing me to hold it away from my ear.

Okay, maybe I should explain. My best friend Lexi and I had the same birthday, June 4th, 1994, which just so happened to be that day. But, I lived with them in Los Angeles, California. I was emancipated at 16 because my dad left my mom and I when I was 7, and after that, my mom turned to alcohol and became an alcoholic. I paid rent, and never let Lexi's parents spend too much money on me. I hated when people spent too much money on me, which is why I paid rent. I had also been dancing hip hop and pop since I was 5, and ballet since I was 2. After my mom became an alcoholic, Lexi's parents paid for my classes with Lexi so I could continue to dance, and I eventually paid them back. Even back then, I spent most of my nights at Lexi's house. But my passion was dancing and it was really how I expressed myself. Lexi and I had loved One Direction since they were on the UK X-Factor, and before America really knew about them. That's why I danced to One Direction a lot. Anyway, back to what Lexi was saying.

"Lexi, calm the hell down! What did they get us?"

"They got us front row tickets and backstage passes to a One Direction concert, bitch! They let me open mine now and told me not to tell you but I just couldn't!" She yelled.

"What?! Oh my God!" I screamed into the phone, earning a pound on the wall from the studio on the other side of mine.

"It's on June 18th! That's in 2 weeks! Oh my God!" She freaked.

"Oh my God. I'm yelling at them when I get home. But I need to get Harry's solo down, and I'll come home. Make sure your room is clean, bitch, cause it's definitely a sleepover night!"

You could say I was a good dancer. I didn't think I was too good, but everyone who saw me dance thought I was amazing. Lexi was amazing. We still usually danced together, and were on Kiss You, I just practiced at a different time than her and then when we both had it down, we would get together and work on it with each other. When we danced together, we looked amazing. And her parents were filthy rich so we had a studio in her house. But even then, I had my own studio that I rented at a near by dance studio. I liked being able to just get away. Now that we were finished with high school, it was easier. Both of us finished with perfect 4.0s and had tons of colleges sending us letters, though neither of us wanted to go to college right then. I did think about online college, and just doing it when I could, to get my bachelor's for when I wasn't a dancer. At the time, I was a part-time waitress at a local restaurant. It paid really well, it just wasn't what I wanted to do with my life. So for the time being, I was going to put my life into dancing.

It took me another 10-15 minutes to get Harry's solo down, and I immediately went home to have a girl's night with Lexi.

"Brooke! Come open your present, dear!" Lexi's mom, Julia, said as I walked in the door. I opened the card and my face lit up.

"Thank you so much, Julia. And you too, Thomas. You guys need to stop spending money on me though! These must have cost a fortune!" I told her parents as I hugged them.

"Sweetie, don't worry about it! Now go celebrate with Lexi! We know you're both freaking out." They laughed and I ran upstairs screaming.

"We're going to meet One Direction!" We screamed as we hugged each other. We ran down to the studio and started blasting Everything About You, our favorite One Direction song, and doing the back-up dance to the song. We were going to meet One Direction, and little did we know, that day would change our lives.
