Ava was staying with the boys and John for the weekend at the motel, and Sam wanted to give her the swim lesson while they were here.

Sam opened the motel door for them Ava and ran straight to her dad who was doing research with his dad.

Ava: Daddy!!!!
Dean: hey sweetheart *lifts her up on her lap* how was the mall?
Ava: Uncle Sam taking me to my swim lessons. I got my baiting suite, look! *shows him* pretty?
Dean: seriously Sam?
Sam: what, her mom approved
Dean: I don't believe that for a second. Did you pull a willy on Sam so you can get what you want
Ava: honest daddy, I didn't. Sam even called mommy to make sure
Dean: alright, I'll take your words for it
John: seriously Dean
Dean: dad drop it, she's my kid not yours. I know what I'm doing
John: *scoff* sure you do
Ava: can I model for you in them?
Sam: uh... Ava your dad has some research to do with grandpa. Why don't you head to the room and put the stuff away and go play with your toys
Ava: but Uncle Sam-
Sam: Ava don't start with me or I'm going to send them back
Ava: but that's not fair
John: Ava Mary Winchester!

All three of them were startled by John's voice.

John: you heard what your Uncle said. What did I say to you if you don't do as you're are told
Ava: you would send me home early
John: no that's if you done something really, really, bad
Ava: pow, pow?
John: yes, so I suggest you learn to listen when we tell you things to prevent that from happening
Ava: *frowns* yes sir *leaves*
John: you boys need to stop letting her pull it over on you guys
Dean: what? Are you serious! You let her get away with things all the time
John: I'm the grandpa, it's my job to spoil my grand daughter. But when it comes to having to discipline my girl, I always go with my words
Sam: oh really, just last weekend you got her off the hook for touching the weapons
Dean: what?!
John: it was because she accidentally cut herself
Dean: why wasn't I aware? I'm her father, Cassie would seriously kill me if I did any damage to her body while watching her. And you know she has every rights to take her away from me if something happened to her on my watch

Dean gets to have Ava on weekends and summer. They do joint custody and have to work it out themselves because Cassie knows that Dean can't go to court

John: I promise her I wouldn't say anything
Dean: Ava, get in here!
Ava runs back into the room.

Dean: let daddy see your fingers
Ava: why?
Dean: don't question it, just do it

Ava showed him her tiny fingers and Dean held them and exam them.

John: see I told you the cut wasn't that deep, that's why its barely noticeable
Ava: grandpa, you promise you wouldn't tell daddy!
Dean: you we're going to keep this from me!
Ava: *backs away into her Uncle Sam who was standing behind them and squirms covers her bottom* daddy no pow pow
Sam: *turns her towards him* Ava you know better then to keep things from us. Remember I told you that's like lying
Ava: I promise, no more lying. I just didn't want daddy mad at me for touching the weapons. I know how he and mommy both feels about me hunting
Dean: darn right, and I'm tired of having the conversation with you about touching stuff that doesn't belong to you
Ava: I'm sorry, please daddy forgive me *wraps arm around him*
Dean: *sighs* oh I could never stay mad at you *lift her up and kiss her forehead* let me kiss to make it feel better

Ava giggles as Dean kissed her wounded finger.

Dean: I just want you to understand that keeping things from me is never okay, I want you to always be honest with me no matter how mad I would get, do you understand?
Ava: yes daddy. I'm sorry I got you in trouble grandpa John
John: it's alright pumpkin, don't let me keeps secrets from your dad and uncle again
Ava: I promise, Uncle Sam, can we go swimming lessons now pleaseeeeeee
Sam: tomorrow morning kiddo
Ava: awww but I want to go today
Sam: I know you're excited kiddo but I have to work on this hunt with your dad and grandfather first
Ava: *sighs* o-okay...
