1 week later:
I am walking down the entrance to get on the plane to London, tears streaming down my face, I didn't know I would be this upset. I felt guilty, I felt like I was leaving Charlie behind. My mom said that she felt the same way but after a while it might be a good thing we moved, it is good to be reminded of him but we would see him everywhere, we needed to have a change to try and escape the fall out. I get onto the plane and take my seat. It was going to be a long ride so I had packed a bag with some books and a few other trinkets. I pulled out the blue Chevy car and a blanket and decided to get some sleep, it was after all 3 in the morning. I had said my good byes to my teachers and Hillary and Natalie and White. He seemed sad I was leaving but not to upset. I was a little sad about that but my new life would begin soon and I would enjoy every minute of it.
Another week later:
We were all settled in now in our new town house. London is so much different than Alabama. I missed the creek and the willow tree being in my backyard but now I had a large oak tree. The weather is probably the hardest to adjust to, I went from wearing shots and a t-shirt everyday to having bulky sweaters and jeans. It seemed to always be raining, the sky always a shade of gray, instead of the pinks and oranges. I started school today and I was pretty excited. I was a little nervous, would people treat me the same or worse? I was hoping that I would make friends quick, and it would seem like we were friends for a long time. I knew I was setting my standards pretty high but still, a girl can dream.I woke up to my alarm, still not quite used to the time difference. I get out of bed and get dressed. I throw on my chunky gray sweater and a pair of dark skinny jeans. I brushed my hair and grabbed some breakfast and walked out the door. I was walking to school today because it was apparently a nice day here in London. It is 50 degrees. It was another gray cloudy day, but the breeze felt nice going through my hair which I got to leave down since it wasn't sweating hot outside. The streets were newly paved, buildings touching going high up into the sky or very close with small ally ways. People were everywhere. There wasn't any abandoned playgrounds anywhere, at least that I could see. I finally got to school and was amazed. I was going to attend the Richman Academy. I walk through the gates and see kids everywhere in uniforms, girls in black blazers and skirts. Guys in polos and pressed Khaki pants. They were all laughing and having fun waiting for the first bell to ring to dismiss us to class. I had my schedule but no uniform. I was sticking out like a broken thumb. It felt like everyone was starring at me, boys included. There was this one guys standing under a tree in particular who was starring. He was extremely cute and I started to blush when he smiled at me. I was about to walk over and introduce myself and ask him where the main office was when a very beautiful girl with shorter blonde hair and bright blue eyes that reminded me of the stars back in Alabama.
"Hi, I'm Lucy!"
she said with a bright smile.
"Hi,"
"Are you new here you look new?"
She had a very strong accent,
"Ya, I'm new here,"
I said peeking over her shoulder to see if the guy was still looking. He was. Lucy, I think she said her name was, looked over her shoulder and saw who I was looking at.
"AWEEEEE, that's Dylan. You too would be really cute together. Wait, what's your name?"
"I'm Shai,"
"Well I'll be right back,"
She ran over to Dylan apparently his name was. She said something to him and he got bright red. Lucy giggled and ran back towards me.
"Ok, I told him that you think he is really cute and want to talk sometime."
My turn to get bright red.
"WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT!!!!"
"Well because it was quite obvious."
I looked over her shoulder and saw he had sat down laughing into his hands.
"And he obviously feels the same,"
The bell then rang and Lucy said,
"I'll take you to the office to get your uniform and then take you on a short tour."
She then skipped away. When I didn't follow she turned around and said
"You coming?"
and continued on happily. What a great way to start off. I already embarrassed myself, well more so Lucy did but oh well. I think I made my first friend.
