8am In the morning you we're out to finally have the exams you've been studying for days
you suddenly felt a burst of excitement as you skipped your way onto the nearest bus stop to start your school day.
You walked holding your reviewers in one hand while your coffee was in the other.
Finally you made it into the exam hall where you test would be taken at.
It was tight, all students were separated from one another like social distancing stations as the moderator was up front doing some paper work.
You we're assigned the seat right next to the airconditioning so all of the cold air was directed towards you.
You sighed, and remembered you left your jacket at home, which was quite weird cause you always bring a jacket or a shoal to cover up.
"lucky day indeed" you sighed as you scanned the notes you've been taking down since the start of the semester.
It was nerve wracking but, it was all gonna be worth it in the end when you get that sweet taste of the letter A on your report card.
Your exam was almos starting and you we're freezing cold, damn you wish you really brought that jacket now.
Your fingers started feeling really numb from the cold and you were shivering
"excuse me? miss?" you called for the moderator upfront and you waved your hand slightly.
"yes?" she answers, putting her glasses down.
"I was wondering if i could transfer seats? cause it's really freezing here by the aircon" you shifted for a while hoping she executes the request
"I'm really sorry dear- im afraid i cant do that, you're gonna have to find your own jacket, why don't you ask around?" she places her hands down her chin pertaining to a thinking position.
"No its totally fine! i'll try looking for one" you stans up from your seat as you walked out to find a jacket.
"damn it out of all the days i forget to bring a jacket, i pick this one" you whined as you walked around the classrooms
it was quite the important exam so the security around the school was extra strict.
your eyes trail over to a familiar face, it was your friend, "hi! do you have a jacket i could borrow?" you tapped her shoulder as you asked her if she had one.
"omg im sorry i dont!" she said in a sad face as you retreated back, "its all good!" you walked away to find atleast someone who had one they could lend.
You even considered asking random strangers cause you were so damn desperate for that jacket.
It seemed impossible as no one had an extra jacket, you felt down.
you were about to retreat back to your class when you felt a finger tap you from behind. facing back you were met with a quite tall boy
He wore black adidas track pants with his left airpod on, he looked quite shy though.
"hi- uh" he stuttered out.
You we're questioning as to why he called for you attention but it was soon flushed out when you saw him holding a jacket in his hand.
"i- saw you looking for a jacket, and uh- here!" he offers his black adidas jacket which matches his sweatpants to you.
He shyly hands it over to you as you stood dumbfounded at the whole situation, but it doesn't matter cause you finally got a jacket!
"Thank you! i needed this so bad!" you thank him feeling over the moon that you don't have to spend your whole exam freezing in the cold
"it's no problem!" he stood there rather awkwardly, he was thinking wether to walk away or...
you took the initiative to start the conversation "i'll return it to you after my test, whens it gonna end?" you ask.
"Mine finishes at 10:30, my room is by the end of the building" he points at his room exactly at the end of the building.
"okay! i'll see you then, I'm Sumin by the way" you introduced yourself for a handshake, and he does the same.
"Jisung" he smiles with his gums out in full view, you wanted to coo at him
You put on his jacket and it smelled like ramyeon, there was even a candy wrapper in one of the pockets.
You chuckled, you couldn't complain as he already gave you the benefit of the doubt.
And the exam started, it was struggling at first but you obviously studied hard for this day, in the end you finished it in no time.
you left your room to venture to the end of the building to return the jacket.
You peeked inside and see jisung scratching his head while staring at his papers, it was a cute sight to see but you decided to give him mental encouragement.
when he finally finished and passed his paper up front, he exited the door to meet with you.
He was quite a shy person, so it was questionable when he approached you first to lend you the jacket.
"hi" you said as he stood there awkwardly once more.
"hi- uh" he looks at his jacket and you did too "uh- yeah- here!" you handed it back and smiled, from the corner, someone was watching you two.
It was one of your friends, well maybe not friend? aquaintance rather?
She had a liking for jisung since the first year and she was surprised when she saw you talking to him, she hurriedly interrupted.
"Sumin! oh my god! oh jisung? hi!" she says in a high pitched voice that could actually break windows.
She started talking to jisung and you never felt so left out, so you opted to leave, they weren't paying attention to you so you had no reason to stay.
You left without a goodbye as your friend kept babbling to jisung, he glanced at you when you left and never left his eyes on you as you disappeared from his sight.
You came home feeling down, you felt bad for not expressing your gratitude to jisung so you asked for his number and to your surprise, you found it from your Jaemin who happened to be your lab partner for science.
Sumin: Hi! its the girl who borrowed your jacket haha!
Jisung: oh hi, how did you get my number?
Sumin: i got it from jaemin, i hope you dont mind
Jisung: Oh its fine!
Sumin: Thank you for letting me borrow! im sorry i didn't get to properly thank you a while ago :)
Jisung: you're welcome ^-^
And thats when it began, you talked every single day to the extent that you were even chatting at 3am in the morning.
You slowly got comfortable with each other and are now dating.
Sometimes you think about what could've happened when you didn't forget to bring a jacket.
And he wondered what could've happened if he never bothered to lend you his.
Its crazy how we chose to believe destiny was a cliché thing that only happens in movies.
When its actually so much more, in this world everything was destined to happen, even if we chose to believe it's not.
It truly does work in the most peculiar ways.
