Gotta deal with it

I went to school and the first thing I heard was I failed my physics test. It was predictable, even if I would've been upset my marks would not change.

I am pretty sure mom is going to ground me.

"Hello Ava, you are going to get detention for failing your test. You will study physics for a week and give the test again." Mrs Miller said.

Well I couldn't do anything about it. I had to face the consequences of the marks I got.

She partnered me up with Noah, why only him when there are so many people in this school. He didn't attempt his physics test god knows why and now I am stuck with him.

He was the reason I forgot about the test. The drama he caused.

"Don't look at me like that, even I am not interested to study with you." Noah mockingly said.

"I don't care bruh seriously. It will be better if you are not around here and I study peacefully."

"Well you judge people when you yourself failed a test, funny right?" Noah laughs.

"I don't need to owe you an explanation , you self centred brat."

Noah comes closer to my face and says "say that one more time and it won't end well for you, get it?"

I moved away he was way too close I was flustered and didn't speak. Why couldn't I speak out of a sudden , I became blank.

The detention for today was finally over. I was heading out and suddenly I saw Noah sleeping with his head down on the table. I went to wake him up to let him know detention was over.

A part of me didn't want to bother with his shit and other did and I don't know why.

Noah looks so peaceful while sleeping I said to myself. I looked at his face and he was in a deep sleep. I thought not to wake him up because it looked like he didn't sleep for days.

When I was on my way to leave his desk he held my hand.

"Don't go, I'll be all alone again." Noah said in his sleepy voice.

What was happening, he is asleep, is he thinking about someone else? And why will he be alone again? this doesn't make sense.

I try to let go of my hand but I couldn't because he held it really tight.

There was no choice but to wake him up.

"Noah wake up." I patted his shoulder with my other hand.
He woke up and was staring at me. Suddenly I felt a sense of nervousness.
I was looking at his eyes and he was looking at mine. Suddenly Noah saw that he was holding my hand and let go.

"What the hell! Why did I do that, what is wrong with you newbie."

"Nothing is, you were the one who held my hand and said I don't want to be alone anymore."

"What I would never say that, stop making up stories to get my attention." Noah vehemently said.

" Why would I even-" I was going to continue but he cut me off.

" I am leaving."

On his way out he closed the door forcefully

How much ego and anger does he have, why is he like this? Was he always like this. I thought to myself and went home.

"Ava what is this? I heard you failed in physics and now you got detention."

I had to deal with this too now.

"Yes mom I am sorry, if you want to ground me you can. Do u want my phone first?"

"That's a great idea that you are cooperating . You will be grounded for a week and I am glad you will be having detention too. Atleast you will study well."

I gave my phone to mom and went up to my bedroom I was way too exhausted to even process what had happened the entire day.
