Chapter 9: Lost at sea and memories

After I was a long way off, I looked back to see if I could see the island. Night had fallen, and it was a foggy night. Even though I knew that I could not, I tried anyway. I sighed helplessly, and put my feet on the edge of the boat and let them fall over the edge and nearly touch he water. From what I know of, no hostile mobs live underwater, just squids. And they are as friendly as can be. So why were these mobs vicious? Did someone once hurt them and they wat revenge? I don't understand why they enjoy killing, like I don't understand the Crazy's. Maybe these mobs are just dead Crazy's.
I pulled myself up and brought my knees close to me. I was shivering, and I had nothing to warm myself up. I had no one to talk to, no food, and I didn't even have solid ground to step on. I tried to comfort myself by humming some old songs we would sing sometimes. (A/N I was hoping to add a song here, but what I wrote was horrible, and I did not have any other ideas, so yeah)
And it did work, I forgot that I wasn't starving and freezing in a boat and I was able to believe I was back in my little home, never betrayed by the other town members and I was enjoying a beautiful day. But then I reached a kiddie song we were taught as younglings. (Insert terrible song here) It was about how we were protected from the mobs amd protected by the Gods, Notch, Jeb, and Dinnebone. It made me remember that despite what we all believed we eere thrown into chaos and our home was destroyed. Yeah, no sense in singing that kinda song.
I closed my eyes and brought my knees closer. I don't even remember which direction I came from! Now I would never be able to return to the people I care about!
And questions flooded my mind. Like, what happened to NigaHiga, was his gorgeous home alright, when I left there was a fire. Or, were the other Minetopians okay? Clearly I have proven alot can go wrong in two days. And was I going to be okay? And the biggest was, who was that guy who destroyed the village. And why? Why was he in my nightmare? Why does he look like me, minus the eyes? Why could he fly? Why, why why. So many whys, and questions. But I guess if I had to wrap it all up into a single question, it would be, Why does this have to happen to me?

I didn't fall asleep. I sat there, shivering all night, finding comfort in the sound of the waves, a noise I was not used to but it felt good and familiar, from one of my dreams, yeah, the one I used to help me build this boat. I remeber it clearly.

Was I just crazy, or was it real? I swear from this distance I could see a stream, a river, anything! I was tired and about to die, lost in this desert for many days. I hadn't eaten for so long, and yet I forced my feet to break into a sprint. I know it could be just a mirage, but, what if it wasn't? Yes, I could smell the fresh scent of seaweed and hear the rush of water moving quickly, yes, it was real! It took all of my common sense not to jump in when I reached it. It was moving quite fast, so fast it was just a white blur against the rocks below. I reached out my hands and splashed some of the water on my face, feeling its cold and refreshing abilities. Surely, for a river to be running through he desert like this, a grassy plain should be nearby. But, I don't dare follow it, seeing how easily I might fall in, or I might collapse from exhaustion. But, how much wood did I have? I pulled up my pockets and checked. Yes, I think it is just enough. But if I crash then I am doomed. And it was going to be rocky. I pulled out my crafting table and with five pieces of wood, I put it in a U formation and got me a boat in the process. I prepared myself, and threw the boat in and leaped, barely grasping onto the sides before I was streaming out in the fast moving river.

Suddenly, I felt myself plunge into the icy water, and my boat exploded from around me. I gagged and swam up, kicking through the freezing cold, surrounded by the broken remnants of my boat. I threw my hands up and grasped a sharp and cold object that had most certainly destroyed my boat. I climbed up, shivering, then I fell down again. It took me a moment to realize I was standing on ice. I took a few weary steps forward, and then slipped down again. After a few moments of this, I managed to make my way to more stable ground, and then gawked at what I saw. Ahead of me, there lay a large forest, covered in a soft blanket in snow. he sun had fallen at this time, and behind the forest you could see the moon slowly rising up behind them, casting a lovely shine over the snow, making it sparkle.  It was perhaps even more beautiful than the woods found back home in Minetopia, ya know, before it burned down. It was also a completely different world from the one I had left, meaning I must have traveled a long way, too far to ever make my way home to be sure. So I went ahead, and began to make my way through.

It was very cold, and very dense. I found myself looking over my shoulder every five seconds, weary that a creeper may come through and blow me up, or a skeleton was hiding somewhere. And that rabbit I had had earlier was definitely gone. And suddenly,I noticed something. It was probably used to be a home or something, but now all it was was scorched wood covered in snow. A fire must have taken it, I thought to myself as I approached. But, a natural fire in a snow plane like this was practically impossible. So, it was probably deliberately done. But that would still take a lot of effort on the griefer doing it, and why would they. They would have seriously wanted to destroy whatever or whoever was inside. And if they had been their cause, and not just doing it to be mentally insane, they succeeded. All I could see was collapsed wood scarred with black marks. And then I noticed it. It was sitting by a mostly frozen over river, and seemed as charred as the building, but if anything inside it had survived...

I walked over and took a look. And as I gazed at the ruined cover, I knew whatever was inside was going to change my life forever
