I hate myself. Why couldn't I protect Eiji? Why was I so dumb, I should have kept a closer eye on him. I should of done more, I should have-
" ASH!"
" huh?"
Wait what was I doing? Oh yea. I forgot Max and I went to ChinaTown to see Nadia, Shorter's sister.
Max looked at me and sighed.
" Ash you've been spacing out a lot, and it's clearly obvious that you have something on your mind."
I didn't say anything I kept my head low. But then Max spoke up again. " If you have something on your mind, you can tell me ya know. After all I'm your dad,".
I looked up at him again.
" So do wanna tell me, you don't have to if you don't want to though."

I sighed and ran my ran my fingers though my hair.

" I wished that I had been there for Eiji. I mean he went though what I went though, and I didn't want him to experience that awful feeling of being assaulted. I mean I promised him that I would keep him safe. And he trusted me. I just hope Eiji doesn't wanna leave because I couldn't protect him. I don't want him to go, I love him so much. But yet, at the same time he's too good for me, he should be with someone better, who can actually protect him and give him the world. All I gave him was a world of violence,hate,crime, and blood. I just really don't want him to leave me."

Max sighed, again, and said " Ash I know that all you wanted to do was save Eiji from that sort of thing, but it already happened. And you can't do anything about it now. So all you can do now is just Eiji love and comfort, and make him feel safe. And I domt think he'll want to leave you. He loves you a lot more than you think Ash. He really does, and you've given him a world of love, and happiness."
I nodded my head and felt a hand on my head. Max ruffled my hair, and called over Nadia. Overall that test of the day ok. We talked to Nadia, and we talked about the restaurant, Shorter, and how life was. After Max and I said goodbye to her and walked to the New York Public Library.

" Hey old man."
" Yea Ash?"
I smirked and said " I'm back at the place I almost died at again, hopefully no wild dumbass stabs me again, cause Eiji didn't write me letter this time around. If he did he probably would have said ' hey my love I love you with all my heart and my soul is always with you, also ps don't die this time cause ima beat your white ass if you do."
I laughed and laughed, until I couldn't breathe, and Max had just a straight face on while shaking his head slowly.

" Ash really? That isn't something to laugh about." I scoffed, " Oh come on! It was a joke. Can't you take a joke?"
We walked closer until I opened the doors to the library.
" So what you gunna get today kid?"
I shrugged. " Eh I don't know. Probably Catcher in the Rye again."
" Oh ok, we'll I'm going to go get some hotdogs."
" Alright dad cya then."

And with Max went back outside. After finding the book I went to sit down were I sat down when I almost died. I was reading my book, and thought of Eiji, how he went to go get hotdogs and didn't like the mustered. I chuckled to myself and continued to read, I also thought about how I should try to talk to Eiji, when I see him. Im so sorry Eiji, was all I was going to say to him when I saw him.
