In the Horde, a young woman cinches the belt around her waist and dawns a pair of boots. She pulls her hair back in a ponytail and her armband glows. She boxes a punching bag and brushes her teeth. She salutes the mirror.
She leers at a picture of an evil figure on her punching bag. "Hey, princess, you looking at me?" She kicks the bag.
She hears a woman talking over the PA, "All squadrons, report to training area immediately for evaluation."
Shortly after the woman is taking her place besides three recruits.
The woman looks around. "Psst, anyone seen Catra?" The woman beside her makes and I don't know sound. The woman scoffs and mumbles to herself, "Not again."
Commander Cobalt gets their attention, "At attention, cadets. Your simulation is about to begin. Here's your scenario. You'll be passing through the treacherous Whispering Woods to reach the heart of the rebel insurgency, Bright Moon."
A scrawny boy, Kyle, beside them whimpers.
"Your mission is to defeat the Queen of the Princesses and liberate Bright Moon in Lord Hordak's name. Where's Catra?" Commander Cobalt finishes.
The blonde responds, "She will be here. I promise."
Commander Cobalt makes a sound of approval, "The Whispering Woods is full of princesses. Vicious, violent instigators. They will take you out if given the chance. Don't give it to them. Good luck, recruits."
The doors open and the recruits go in the training area turning their visors on.
"Watch out!" ,the blonde says.
"Oh, no, no, no, no, no!" Kyle says.
The woman hurls an explosive at one of the 'princesses'. "Come on, this way." she says
A silhouette with two different colored eyes watches them and growls.
Kyle trying his best gets hit with a laser on his chest plate. His teammates turn around and ruun towards him. The blonde woman turns him rorund and a red 'x' shows on his chest plate.
"Aw, dang it!" Kyle groans
The Blonde says, "Seriously, Kyle?
The woman with dreadlocks, Lonnie, says, "Bra-vo," in the most sarcastic voice.
Kyle frowns. Three 'princesses' hover over them. They fire.
"Seriously, Kyle!" Lonnie says.
The blonde woman shouts, "Run!"
The recruits hold shields overhead while the 'princesses' keep firing. The blonde sprints ahead.
"Adora!" Lonnie says.
Alarms beep as hexagons under Adora's feet turn red and a giant robotic orb shoots up from the floor, which morphs into a four legged robot.
In Adora's visor it shows the queen.
Adora then runs at the robot with a baton. She pulls herself onto the robot's head and bashes its guns with her baton.
Adora smashes the robot and it sinks into the floor. She leaps off and flops onto the floor face-down. A cat-woman strides past her and pushes the crackling robot into the floor. Adora raises her head and the cat-woman points at the red symbol beneath her. Adora falls in.
Adora yells and manages to catch herself by extending the baton on both sides of the wall.
"Hey, Adora. How's it hanging?" The cat-woman says.
"Catra. Did you really show up late and let us do all the hard parts? That is low, even for you." Adora says.
Aw. You know nothing's too low for me." Catra laughs a high squeaky laugh compared to her rough voice. "Now come on, you look stupid hanging down there."
As Adora is being lifted up, a woman over the PA says, "Training exercise successfully completed."
In the locker room, standing beside Adora, Catra starts laughing, "You should've seen your face. You were like, 'Aah, no! Betrayal.'
Adora scoffs, "Come on, Catra. We're senior cadets now. I can't believe you're still pulling such childish, immature-- Is that a mouse?!" Adora says as she point somewhere above.
"What!? Where!?" Catra asks.
Adora starts laughing, "Are you ever going to not fall for that?"
Catra says annoyed, "I don't know. Are you ever going to let it go? That was one time." She says leaning against the lockers beside Adora.
"I know, but for some reason it's always funny." Adora says while chuckling lightly.
"Adora." A woman says in a dark voice.
The woman approaches, floating above the floor with her dark hair flowing in the air and the bottom of her red silk robes floating like menacing tentacles.
"Shadow Weaver." Says straightening up along with Catra standing beside her.
"You have done well. You've completed your training course in record time." Shadow Weaver says in a sweet voice.
"Uh, well, that wasn't just me. You know, Catra did, too." Adora says, by grabbing Catra's shoulders and pointing towards her.
"Ah, yes. How someone as unmotivated as you completed the course in that time, I'll never know." Shadow Weaver says, disdain laced with in her words.
Catra replies back, "Always serving up those pep talks, huh, Shadow Weaver?" Sarcasm is hinted in her tone.
"Silence. Do not be flippant with me, cadet." Shadow Weaver , says as she uses her shadows to be intimidating. Adora beside her has a scared and shocked face and looks at Catra sideways.
"Sorry Shadow Weaver." Catra says slightly annoyed. Shadow Weaver draws her shadowy tentacles back.
"Adora, walk with me." Shadow Weaver says, sweetly as if nothing happened.
Adora looks back and Catra. Catra merely shrugs.
"Adora." Shadow Weaver says sternly.
Adora runs after Shadow Weaver.
