Reina's POV
My name is Yonashiro Reina and I have a secret.
Most people's secrets are usually nothing the world would care about in a sense. But for me, I have to keep something like this away from anyone's knowledge.
Even my best friends don't know a thing. They all just think we have the same last name. That's obviously not the case.
You see, my older brother is none other than Jpop boy group JO1's Yonashiro Sho.
Trust me, as much as I love him as my brother and how kind and caring he is, I just wish he would leave me alone sometimes.
"Oi, Yonashiro!" I heard a loud voice exclaim, quickly snapping me out of drifting off to sleep and back to the present. It was my English literature teacher Mr. Kanazawa. "Are you sleeping in my class again? I'll see you after class!"
"Bu-But!" I protested, only to get cut off by Mr. Kanazawa.
"No buts! I'll see you after class!"
Crossing my arms, I rolled my eyes and continued taking notes on the day's lecture. I could see my best friends Mayu and Nozomi let out small little giggles at seeing me get in trouble once again. The day passed me by in a blur. My English notes were all over the place, incomprehensible.
"Ah!" I exclaimed, out of exasperation. "It's impossible! How the hell am I going to pass this class?!" I stared at my English notebook, unable to understand a thing.
Mayu and Nozomi simply gave out more giggles. "Rei-chan, don't you think you need to stop drifting off to sleep in Kanazawa's class in order to pass?" Nozomi stated, flipping her long blonde hair over her shoulder. Most people in our grade referred to her as being a yankee or a delinquent. However, she was quite intelligent nonetheless.
Mayu let out an obnoxious laugh. "I mean, Nozo-chan has a point! You're always sleepy in his class... You should have seen this coming, Rei-chan!" Mayu said all of this in a rather nonchalant tone. Her darkened dark brown eyes appeared to be a void black color, as if she could see into the supernatural realm. Outside of school, she often wears gothic lolita fashion and is into horror movies and grotesque, gory imagery. To others, she's also quite the outsider.
"Shut up!" I yelled. "Ugh, I'm just so annoyed! First, my brother keeps scaring boys away and now I have to see Mr. Kanazawa after class? I really do have bad luck, don't I?"
"Ah, you haven't seen your older brother in a while, huh?" Nozomi asked as we crossed the street. "How is he though? He hasn't been around, has he?" She appeared to be rather excited about the possibility of meeting Sho. I, for one, was quite annoyed by this.
"Nope!" I stated in response. "He's been busy with his job lately. But, my mom told me he'll be in town for a bit 'cuz he's on vacation or something,"
"Oh, what does he do for his job?" questioned Mayu. "Since your parents are pretty good-looking people, I assume he's quite the looker too?"
"And what about me?" I asked, pointing to myself and pouting my lips.
"Ah, you're just average..." Nozomi joked, Mayu in turn giving her a swing to the stomach with her elbow. "Ouch! Mayu, how did you get so violent?"
