Chapter 9

"A secret was meant to be hidden, some are for good reasons and some are far from good reason."

We were now eating at the cafeteria, I was with Harley, Andrew and Brent. Brent was beside me while Harley and Andrew are in front of us. I'm not going to lie, they looked good together, but I know they are lying that they are dating. I can sense it with my powers, I looked at Brent and I saw him eating peacefully.

I smiled mentally at the sight of him. I had a crush on him since we met, we are friends now. I wanted to confess to him but I'm afraid that I'll ruin our friendship. I don't want to ruin the only connection I have from him.

I'm also scared that if he finds out who I really am, he might avoid me and think that I'm a freak. I don't want any of those to happen.

"Are you okay?" Brent asked.

"Yeah, just thinking of something..." I replied.

"Guys, I'm just going to the bathroom." Harley said standing up.

"I'll come and wait outside of the bathroom babe!" Andrew said putting his arm around her shoulder. I saw Harley blushed as I chuckled.

These kids, why can't they just make their relationship real, they're not really dating but their acting is really good.

"Jessie?" I looked at him.

"Yes? "

"I really like this girl and I wonder if you have an advice for me, I really want to ask her out." Brent said.

I felt my heart clenched; it hurts so freaking much. I try to control my tears and looked at him with my fake smile.

"Well, sure! How was she like?" I asked trying to control my emotions.

"Well, she's really caring and loving towards her best friend. She's really loyal to her and I admire her for that..." He paused for a minute. "She's really beautiful, smart and just amazing."

"Really? You should tell her how you feel, and be happy.... With her...." I said as put on my fake smile.

"You really think I should?" He asked.

"Y-yeah! Anyway, I-i need to go do something... " I then run away from him heading to the rooftop.

I arrived at the rooftop as I let all the tears fall. My sobs were the only thing that is heard in the quiet rooftop. I cried silently; I knew this day would come. I have nothing to do but accept it.

My tears were rolling down my cheeks nonstop, while my hands were covering my face. Suddenly I felt arms around me making me flinch.

"Why are you crying?" The person whispered, I recognized his voice and turn to face him. It's Brent...

"It's nothing... Just a heart problem, I think I just had a heart attack and it really hurts."

"Hey, don't lie to me." He started. "The girl I was talking about is you... "

I widen my eyes as I heard what he said. Did he just confess?

"W-what?"

He chuckled at my reaction. "I said, I like you... Jessie, I always liked you since the beginning."

Now I feel like an idiot

I was crying for no reason?

I sighed as I glared at him. "You brat! You made me cry without a reason!" I said as I slightly hit his chest.

"Hey! That hurts stop, you're hurting me!" He said in a baby voice acting that he was hurt.

I laughed at his face; it was so funny. "You looked funny. " I laughed again.

"Anyway... " He suddenly grab my waist pulling me close to him. "Will you be mine?" He asked.

"No" I looked at him. He looked down for a moment, he was about to leave but I pulled him wrist stopping him.

"I'm just kidding! Yes! Let me be yours!" I said smiling brightly to him.

He didn't waste time as he suddenly smashed his lips into mine. I was shocked for a moment, I then kissed him back wrapping my arms around his neck while his arms around my waist. The kiss was soft, passionate and gentle.

"Ewww, what am I watching?!" We broke the kiss and turned our heads to the person speaking. It was Harley and Andrew looking at us weirdly.

"Finally! You confessed!" Andrew congratulates Brent like he was waiting for this moment to happen.

"I'm so happy for you!" Harley hugged me as I smiled.

"Thank you, guys now let's get going!"

"Let's go baby... " Brent said as he intertwining his hands to mine. I blushed when he called me baby.

I was now outside waiting for the others; I finished my classes early today. I was just chilling on the bench when I heard Harley screaming. I looked at where was it coming from. My eyes widened as I see Ash pulling Harley away, I quickly run to him and shouted.

"Ash you asshole! Leave her alone!" I hold Harley's hand and Ash's hand pulling them away from each other.

Suddenly I froze as I felt my eye color changed and saw a vision from Ash's hand.

• The Vision •

"Where's Jasmine?" Ash asked the guards. He was wearing and old fashion suit, he looked rich and elegant.

"She said she was going to a friend sir."

"I said don't let her go! You're all stupide."

French transition: stupid.

"We're sorry sir Alex."

Alex? His name was Alex?

Alex/Ash then headed to the office of his father. He opened the door harshly.

"Le Père, she escaped!" He said furiously.

Translation: father

"What?! "

"My bride escaped! This cannot happen! She's mine!"

"I'm on it son, we'll find her. "

The scene suddenly changed. I saw a bridge; in the bridge I saw Harley and Andrew? They were hugging, but then Andrew pushed Harley away and got hit by a car. Harley hurriedly runs to him.

She was crying, suddenly Ash/Alex grabbed her and pulled her away giving her to the guards. He then kneels in front of Andrew's lifeless body and smirked.

"I won, Brian... She's mine, and will always be." He then leaves with Harley and the guards holding her.

• End of Vision •

I felt my eyes turn back to normal, I looked at Harley. She was shocked, she might have seen my secret self. Ash quickly runs away from us.

"What are you?" Harley asked. I looked down not answering her.

"Jessie, what are you!"

"I'm a witch!"
