Chapter 27

"It's not goodbye, it's see you later."

"What happened?" I panicky asked. 

"Jessie is in a flat line." I start to tremble and voice began to break as I felt the color drain from my face. 

"W-what?" My voice shakes as I asked.

"What happened?" Andrew asked worried.

"We're on our way." I replied on the phone.

"What happened?" Andrew asked as his eyes met my teary once, he wiped my tears away as he hugged me tightly.

"J-Jessie, she's on a flat line..." I sobbed, "We need to go to the hospital, now!" I panickily said.

I then dragged Andrew as we headed to our car, I then drove to the hospital as we saw Brent. He was outside Jessie's room, his hands were holding his face as he cried silently. The sight broke our hearts, I know how it hurts for him for his lover is in this kind of situation.

"Brent! Where's Jessie?!" I asked.

"She's inside, with the doctors and nurses." He tried to hide his teary red eyes as he looked away, we then sat beside him as we tried to comfort him.

A few minutes passed as we wait impatiently, suddenly the door opens as it reveals the doctor. We then stand up as we hoped that Jessie is alright. "How is she doctor?" I asked nervously.

He then looked down for a moment and looked back to us again, "I'm sorry, We've done everything we can..." 

Just like that my world crashed as I felt my knees weak, this was all my fault. I know it won't happen if it weren't for me...

"N-no! what do you mean?!" Brent yelled. His tears were streaming down his cheeks nonstop, he couldn't believe that she's gone. She left him...

"I'm sorry..." The doctor then walked away as he looked down.

I felt a sting of pain in my chest, It was all my fault. If she didn't saved me I was supposed to be in her place, she saved me. She always saved me. Since the beginning she have always saved me, yet I didn't do anything to save her. 

"N-no, this can't be.." I sobbed as I barged into her room, there was her lifeless body laying on the hospital bed. I approached her lifeless body as I held her cold hands, "Why?! Why Jessie! Why did you leave me!" I sobbed.

"Y-you said I'll always have you right?! Why did you save me!" I cried as tears flow nonstop. 

I feel all drained and empty, I can't accept her death I didn't want to. She was not just my best friend, she was my sister. She's always been there for me, until her last breath she never betrayed me. 

Brent then holds her other hand as he sobbed, "Baby... Why did you leave me?" He asked as his voice breaks. "You said you'll never leave me right? Then what's this? Please baby wake up..." He sobbed.
