The Demon's Curse

Chapter 3

"Good morning, my little angel."

I wake up from Luke's voice next to my ear, his hand brushing a strain of hair out of my face.

"Mh... good morning..."

I hear him chuckle as he puts something cold around my neck. My eyes open, looking down at a cute little heart with a pink saphire in it.

I look over to Luke, confusion in my eyes.

"Do you like it?"

He smiles at me and I nod.

"I do. It's really beautiful but why you're giving me this?"

He gives my forehead a kiss.

"Because I want you to know you belong to me, my little angel."

I smile at his sweet words.

"Thanks. I really like it."

He hugs me and we stay in bed a while longer to cuddle. Then it's time to get up since he has to go to work.

Not long after he's gone, I feel depressed being left alone with my anxiouties again and decide to write my friend.

Hey Iris. You have some time?

It doesn't take long for her to answer me.

Of course! Wanna meet in at the usal in 30 min?

I smile. She's always there whenever I need support.

Sounds good. See you there!

I put my phone away and get ready to head out, putting on some light makeup and a plain dark red dress.

After checking myself up in the mirror, I head to the Cafe, which is down some streets from the flat.

Arriving there, I already see Iris waving at me. I pull her into a hug and we sit down at our usal spot.

"So out with it, darling. What happend?"

I chuckle, she's not one to beat around the bush and she always knows if something's on my mind.

"Haha. Straightforward as ever I see."

I tease her and she grins back at me.

"With someone like you, I have to be. So c'mon what's up? Did he do it again?"

My smile fades and I nod, looking down.

She let's out a sigh and leans back in her chair.

"Sweety. I know this is hard for you but there's something off about him and you know it."

I start fidgeting with my hands and look up to her, hope in my eyes.

"B..but maybe... you know... it's normal..."

She shakes her head apologeticly.

"No, Tiana. It's not and you know it. Feeling in seventh heaven while being around your partner. THAT is normal."

She makes a small break talking, taking my hand.

"But this... it's not. It's not normal for eyes to go completly black, him wanting you or not. That's not how it works. It's not normal for you to be paralyzied and letting him do as he wants."

"B..but... I never had... anyone before so maybe... it's just stronger...?"

She shakes her head.

"No. Tiana. You need to listen to reason. Not your heart."

I sink my head and she squeezes my hand, not wanting to see me upset.

"I have an idea."

I look up to her, curious what her idea is. She seems to think for a second and then looks at me, starting talking again.

"So it's obvious something's weird with him. AND he's definetly hiding something from you."

She makes a pause, seeing if I follow her so far and I nod. Then she continues.

"You and me. We both are gonna tail him. It might take a while to get the info we want but eventually we will know."

"I don't know... he's smart... he will find out..."

And it's true. He's very observative. He knows immediatly when something's wrong... it's like he has some weird sense for it. It's really creepy.

I shiver at my thoughts and Iris rubs my hand.

"I promise you. It's gonna be fine. He won't find out.

I nod.
