Part 11: Officially Official

Skylor POV

We all split up into groups to go look for Cole. I was in a group with Kai and Harumi.

"Alright. I say we start the search at the local bakery." Kai said as we stepped out his front door.

"Don't you think that would be too obvious?" Harumi said.

"What? No. What if he hid his face so that he wouldn't be noticed when he went to get cake." Kai said.

"True. The man does love his cake." I said.

"I don't know. Still seems like someone would have recognised him there. He is a regular customer." Harumi said.

I guess Harumi kinda has a point.

I was about to agree with Harumi when Kai slung his arm around me and said, "Fine. Well, you can look somewhere else. But me and Sky-Sky are going to the bakery. Right Sky?"

Did he just call me Sky-Sky? What am I? His pet dog?

"Uh yeah. Kai and I are going to the bakery." I said.

"Fine. We'll go to the bakery." Harumi said.

Kai looked surprised. "Well- uh, if you want, you could check somewhere else, and Skylor and I will go to the bakery. Ya know. Just to be more productive." Kai said smiling.

Its like he doesn't want Harumi to come.

Harumi looked unimpressed. "You two just wanna be alone. Don't you?"

Kai blushed a bit. "No- I just wanted to uh, I just wanted to- fine yes." Kai said giving up and slumping a bit.

Harumi smirked. "Alright. I'll look somewhere else. But you two better be looking for Cole. Not doing anything else."

Kai and I both blushed.

"We won't! We're gonna look for Cole." I said.

"You better." Harumi said as she started to walk away.

"Good luck!" I said to her as she was leaving.

"You too!" She called back.

I watched Harumi turn around the corner of the street. It's just me and Kai now. The others are already long gone. Not that I'm complaining.

I turned back around to face Kai, but as soon as I did, he came nice and close to me and kissed me smack on the lips. I was surprised at first, but then I kissed him back.

We parted. "Woah." I said blushing and a bit flustered, Kai was still nice and close to me.

Kai stood back a bit "Skylor, I know this probably isn't the time since we should be looking for Cole. And I know we've only been on one date, but I really like you a lot." Kai said.

"I really like you too Kai. That's why I went out on that date with you when you asked. And that's also why I didn't slap you across the face when you kissed me just now." I said laughing bit.

"Skylor? Will you, ya know, officially be my girlfriend?" Kai asked.

I was shocked for a sec before I said, "Kai, I really like you but, I'm really just not ready for that kind of relationship in my life right now."

Kai looked at me shocked, like he's never been rejected before, which he probably hasn't.

"Did you just say no? To Kai?" Kai said confused.

"I'm sorry Kai." I said to him acting upset.

Kai still looked confused and shocked.

I burst out laughing, "I'm just kidding Kai! Of course I'll be your girlfriend!" I said smiling. I couldn't contain my excitement anymore.
