Part 5: First Date

Lloyd POV

When Harumi and I arrived at the park everyone was running around and stuff like that.

"Hey guys!" I said.

Skylor jogged over, " hey Lloyd, hey Harumi!" She said trying to catch her breath.

"No Lloyd, get away from her, she's IT!" Kai yelled.

Skylor rolled her eyes.

The rest of the gang all gathered around.

"Dude, what the duck happened to your face?" Jay said.

"I told you guys something went down between them." Cole muttered.

Seleil gave Cole a playful punch to the arm. "Dont expose them!" She said jokingly.

"You guys are so immature" Zane said.

"But for real Lloyd, what did happen?" Pixal said.

"I bumped into Chen and..." Harumi continued to explain.

I noticed that Zane and Pixal were holding hands. They make such a cute couple.. huh, I wish that could be Harumi and I, but I can't work up the nerve to ask her out.

Kai can relate. He can't work up the nerve to ask Skylor out. He told me that he might try today, but I think he's too much of a chicken to go through with it.

Zane and Jay have already leveled up there manliness enough to get girlfriends if there own.

Cole is just completely denying the whole thing. Even though we all admitted our crushes to each other. He still keeps denying feelings for Seleil. He's trippin. Me and the guys all know he likes Seleil but he won't admit it. I'll have to admit that he hides his feelings for her pretty well though.

"Lloyd?!" I heard Nya say.

"Oh sorry, I was just lost in thought there for a sec." I said in response.

"Are you ok?" Nya said concerned.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you sure you weren't doing something else at the school?" Cole said.

"Oh my gosh Cole! Get your mind out of the gutter!"Harumi said.

"Ok! Ok!" Cole said throwing his hands up in surrender.

Me and the rest of the gang kept on just roasting each other back and forth when all of a sudden everyone fell into an awkward silence. I guess everyone was dried out of not-so-insulting-insults.

Skylor phone made a ding sound. She took it out of her pocket and read the message then said, "Alright, sorry guys, I gotta go."

We all mumbled our 'goodbyes' and 'see ya tomorrows' and Skylor started to walk away.

"Wait!" We all turned to see the person who said that who was obviously Kai.

He started jogging over to Skylor who had stopped in her tracks.

I saw Kai start talking to Skylor but I couldn't hear what they were saying. Skylor smiled and giggled a bit. That's when I thought to myself... was Kai really asking Skylor out?

Kai POV

Skylor started to walk away after informing us that she had to leave. That's when I got a sudden adrenaline rush and semi-yelled, "Wait!" everyone turned to look at me and I started to jog toward Skylor before anyone could catch me blushing.

I came beside Skylor who had stopped in her tracks.

"Hey Skylor," I said but bit my tongue before I continued.

The next few moments felt like everything was going in slow motion. If I did actually go through with asking her out, What would happen if she rejected me? Would we still be close friends? What would happen to me? I've never been rejected by any girl in my life.

Then I reminded myself that I should be thinking about the positive here, not the negative.

What if she does say yes? I smiled to myself a bit when I thought of her actually saying yes.

I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if she said yes, why would any girl reject someone as tall, smart and good-looking as me? Of course all those things are besides the gorgeous hair. If you include the hair, I'm basically a god.

"Uh, Kai?" Skylor said waving I hand in front of my face that still had somewhat of a smirk on it.

I shook my head of my thoughts. I guess everything wasn't going in slow-motion like it seemed.

"Oh, sorry I was just-" she cut me off, " Lost in thought?" she said finishing my sentence.

"Yeah that." I said.

"So, what did you need to tell me?" Skylor asked.

"I- um..." I stuttered! I never stutter! Ugh, just do it Kai! Ask her you stupid-

"Kai? Are you ok?" Skylor asked concern written on her face.

Alright now I'm just making a fool of myself. That's when stupid me got another kick of adrenaline.

"SkylorI'vereallylikedyouforawhilenowandIknowyouprobablydon'tlikemeback,butifthere'sasmallchancethatyoudo,canItakeyouonadate?" I said faster than fast. I physically face-palmed myself.

Skylor giggled, "What? I'm pretty sure you just spoke faster than Jay, that's a new record!" She laughed to herself again.

I will admit I chuckled a bit mostly at how much of an idiot I was to speak so fast. I can't even remember the last time I was so nervous!

"Skylor, I really like you. Will you go out with me?" I said taking her hand.

"I-um, like a date?" She asked.

"Yeah, like that." I said blushing.

"Is this a prank?" She said.

"Uh... no..." I said confused as to why I would do a prank like that on my crush and break her heart.

"Yeah, sure. I've actually had a crush on you for a while also." She said looking down at her feet to avoid me noticing her blush.

Only one thought went through my mind... SHE SAID YES!!!!
