Chapter 8 - The Interviews

Before I know it I'm on stage for my interview. 

"So Gale. What do you like most about the capital?" I think about the answer for a few seconds.

"Hmm...The beds." I decide on.

It goes on with simple trivial questions. Until the end.

"On a serious note, Gale. Why did you volunteer?"

"I don't really know. I guess I just had to protect Katniss.?"

"And why is that?" I wait a while to answer that question. 

"...Because I love her."

Katniss' face comes on screen. Pure shock is expressed on her face.

"But only one of you can win." He says.

"And it will be her."

We go back to our apartment in silence. I walk into my room with Katniss on my tail. She follows me into my room. 

"Are you-" I don't even get to finish before Katniss starts to kiss me. Her lips are soft, gentle but hungry.

"Well I guess your not angry." I say. She looks down then back into my eyes and replies.

"No. I'm not."

I don't see Katniss that morning. Portia gets me ready and a hovercraft takes us to the arena. A lady goes around and puts trackers in everyone's arm.

Portia and I go under the arena into the lunch rooms. We stay silent the whole time and that's how I want it.

Sorry it's short. And took so long. I've been really busy. And sick. 

Chapters will be longer after this because it won't follow the book as much.

I'm starting hockey with most of my old team. TOO EXCITED. 

FINISHING SCHOOL THIS WEEK.

I'm in my school play and have an actual role. I think it's just a cameo but still.
