We'd decided that it wouldn't be fair to break it to either Jer's parents or my mom before telling the other and so we'd gathered all three of them in my living room. Jer's parents were seated together on the couch with my mother sitting beside his mom. I was standing in front of them with Jeremy close beside me. His mother was looking at us both closely and smiling.

"Are you both finally together? Is that why we're here?" She finally asked. I could tell that she'd been dying to ask the question since she'd set foot inside the front door.

Jeremy shifted uneasily beside me. "Well... yeah, but that's not really why you're here. I mean it is, but..." He took a deep breath and looked up at me silently asking for help.

I took his hand in mine and gave it a reassuring squeeze before looking back at our parents. "Yes, Jer and I are together. He moved his stuff in here a few days ago." I confirmed and watched all our parents beam up at us. I continued before they could interrupt. "We're also going to be daddies. Deb is due in early September and then Jeremy and I will raise the baby. You're going to be grandparents."

I had expected our parent's to be vocal at this point but instead I watched as both of our mothers began to cry and Jeremy's dad tried to console his wife. I looked over at Jeremy who was watching the scene with a worried expression. I pulled him into my side and gave him a gentle squeeze.

Suddenly my mom jumped off the couch and threw herself at me. "I can't believe I'm going to be a Grandma. I'm so happy, congratulations, baby." She moved away from me and pulled Jeremy into a hug. "You're going to be a wonderful father." She told him and kissed his cheek.

I smiled happily as I watched Jeremy hug my mother back and thank her for her kind words. He would make the best father any child could hope to have.

Because I'd been watching them both I was unprepared for the small woman who threw her arms around me in a death grip. "Thank you." She mumbled into my chest and I frowned as I tried to figure out why she was thanking me. She pulled back slightly and beamed up at me. "Thank you for loving him and making him happy. I know he's loved you for a very long time, he's never been able to hide his feelings for you." I had to laugh, it seemed I was the only one oblivious to his feelings.

"You don't need to thank me, it's hard not to love Jeremy." I said looking over at the man in question.

"Take care of my son and make him happy, or I'll see that you regret it." Jeremy's dad said as he clapped me on the shoulder. I knew he was serious, he loved all of his children and he wouldn't tolerate anyone hurting any of them.

"Yes, Sir. I only want him to be happy." I told him.

"Dad, stop threatening him. You're supposed to be happy that you're going to be a Grandpa, not standing around threatening people." Jeremy told his dad.

"I am happy for you both. And I'm thrilled that I'm going to have a grandchild." He said putting his arm around his wife's shoulders.

"Do you have any sonogram pictures?" His mom asked looking between us both.
