Crack!

I bolted upright, whirling around, certain I had heard the crack of the whip.

I only just realised I had my ankles and wrists were shackled to the bed by chains.

I could move to a certain extent but I was still shackled.

My heart was still pounding furiously as I tried to shake off the horrible memories.

"You are nothing but an empty vessel. A weapon for Silent Winds." I muttered to myself.

Soon, I felt empty again, as I looked around the room, assessing my options.

There was a curtain around the bed, like a hospital so I couldn't tell if it was day or night.

The lights were on so I could see the small area of space I had.

I looked back at the chains and tugged on them, testing them. I didn't know where I was so I had to leave.

I realised my wings weren't there so they had probably disappeared before I had passed out.

I sat up in the bed and closed my eyes, letting my wings reappear.

I felt them grow on my back as I opened my eyes again to them fully healed.

Using my wings, I swiped them on the chain carefully, snapping them.

I did it with the all my chains, making sure to do it as quietly as possible.

After I was done, I let my wings disappear again.

Slowly, I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up.

I felt a wave of dizziness come over me but I shook it off as I pulled back the curtain in the room.

I blinked in surprise when there was nobody else in the room, no guards.

I was glad that I was still in my suit as I raised the hood over my head and walked over to the window.

Sliding the window open, I leapt out of the building and scaled down the wall.

I was surprised as I turned around to see myself in an alleyway.

I watched at the end of the alleyway as cars and people rushed past.

I stared widely at the amount of people here.

I'm in a city... I realised as I looked at the roads and streets.

Never had I ever been in a city during daylight since joining Silent Winds.

I stared in shock and awe as I walked to the end of the alleyway and stared at the world in wonder.

So this is what the world really looks like. I thought to myself.

Suddenly, I heard a yell as I whirled around to see someone staring out the window I had climbed out of.

"The girls escaped!" Someone yelled out as I took off.

I ran past all the people and crowds, ignoring the weird looks I was getting from everyone as I ran away.

I was panting as I finally slowed down, stopping at a park.

I leaned against a tree, heaving slightly.

People at the park were also giving me weird looks as I thought about how I would look.

A 17-year-old girl walking around a city in an assassins suit.

Sighing, I pulled out my phone which was still in my pocket, however it wasn't working.

I sighed but I took the case of the phone off, revealing the cash I kept in a plastic bag.
