Chapter 19

I tried to push myself upright as I watched both Akutagawa and Atsushi-kun launch attacks at Fitzgerald.

"Get up!" I heard someone mutter as my eyes widened in shock.

In front of me... stood Moriai-san, his eyes hard.

"Get up." He said again as I stared at Moriai-san.

However, I felt no fear within me as Moriai-san turned his glare to me.

"I have trained you to push beyond your limits, so get up!" Moriai-san instructed as I set my jaw and pushed myself up.

My knees were shaking as I pushed myself upright, but I was standing.

Moriai-san gave me a satisfied nod. "Now go fight." He said as he faded from view.

Despite the things Moriai-san had put me through, I nodded my head. "Thank you, Moriai-san." I said as I grabbed my blades inside my boots.

I took a step forward, slowly towards Fitzgerald, Akutagawa and Atsushi-kun.

I took another step, and another as I was now leaping towards him.

"Fitzgerald!" I yelled as Fitzgerald hit Atsushi-kun in the face, sending him flying off the ship.

I watched as Akutagawa sent his Rashoumon after Atsushi-kun as I spun in the air.

Fitzgerald saw me a second too late as I kicked him in the face.

He crashed into the wall as I held my blades out, panting hard.

"I won't let you destroy the only family I own." I said as I raised a blade towards Fitzgerald, as the blade caught on my black flames.

Fitzgerald stumbled upright as he smiled at my burning blades.

Fitzgerald lunged forward but I was already dodging.

I swiped at Fitzgerald's unprotected side as I screamed in rage as I plunged the blade in.

I watched as the blade suck into Fitzgerald's flesh, the smell of flesh burning filling the air. 

Fitzgerald screamed in pain as he grabbed my hand and snapped my wrist in half.

However, I let my healing flames crawl over the broken bone, knitting the snapped bones together as Fitzgerald pulled the blade from his back.

The stab wound had burned flesh around it as Fitzgerald blinked in shock.

"How?" He asked as I heard Akutagawa mutter behind me. 

"Die, weretiger." As I saw from the corner of my eye, Atsushi-kun who had his fist bound in fabric of Rashoumon. 

"Because I'm free." I said as Fitzgerald raised his hands to meet Atsushi-kun and Akutagawa's combined blow.

I concentrated on my own flames, making them appear where Fitzgerald stood.

Atsushi-kun hit Fitzgerald just as my flames exploded from beneath Fitzgerald.

A bright light exploded from where the abilities met, fighting against each other.

Atsushi-kun and Fitzgerald both screamed in rage as they pushed against their limits.

Suddenly, an explosion occurred between Atsushi-kun and Fitzgerald as I turned away from the searing light.

Then it all stopped as the dust cleared away.

I fell to my knees as I saw Atsushi-kun and Akutagawa also slump to the ground.

It's over. I thought to myself but I heard the soft sound of shuffling as I looked up, eyes widening in shock.
