I took a black leather belt from my wardrobe, running my fingers against the smooth, supple leather. I slowly turned towards Nathalie. . Her wet hair clung to her face, and she nervously brushed a few damp strands away from her eyes. Her gaze fixated on the belt in my hand, and I could see the terror etched across her face. Beads of water glistened on her long lashes. With deliberate force, I slapped the belt against my palm, flashing her a cunning smile. "Come here, Nathalie." However, I was pushing the flames of hatred down inside of me. I despised her for killing my mum and escaping, then putting on an innocent, fearful act.
The tension in the air was disrupted when the door swung open, followed by Henry calling for me. I turned to find Henry and Caleb, another bodyguard, restraining a tattooed man inside the room.
"Sir, we've found Nathalie's date."
My gaze shifted to the man before me. Shirtless, his muscular frame was adorned tattoos, crawling over his skin like monsters. Paint stains marked his worn-out jeans, and a band-aid clung to his cheek. His shaggy, greasy brown hair added to his rough appearance.
My eyes narrowed. Nathalie and this man in front of me looked like people from entirely different worlds. "Are you sure this is him?"
Henry nodded.
The man growled, struggling fiercely against Caleb and Henry's relentless grip. "What the hell do you want?! First, you steal my girl, and now you want me too?!" I let out a cold, bitter chuckle, the sound echoing throughout the room. "Your girl?" I sneered, reaching out behind me to grab hold of Nathalie's arm. "You mean this girl?"
The man nodded.
A cold chuckle escaped my lips. "So, you helped her escape from me, didn't you? You're the one who gave her the courage, the energy, and the thoughts to defy me..."
"What are you talking about?! You think your so cool in your dumb expensive clothes and your damn mansion?!" he spat.
Henry swiftly silenced him, stuffing a crumpled cloth into his mouth, effectively gagging him. I turned my attention back to Nathalie, a twisted smirk lingering on my lips. I wondered how she would react, her beloved being whipped in front of her. Would she helplessly sob, begging for me to stop?
"What is his name?"
"His name is James Green," Henry replied. With a casual flick of my hand, I tossed the belt at Henry. "Whip this man," I commanded.
James's eyes filled with hatred. I watched Nathalie closely, studying her expression as Henry unrelentingly lashed the belt against James' exposed flesh. Her eyes widened in disbelief, her features contorting with horror.
"Scared for his life?" I strode over, leaning in and whispering in her ear.
James continued to howl in pain as Caleb pressed him down on the floor in a kneeling position.
"This is just the beginning," I whispered and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. "There will be more to come." "This is just the beginning," I murmured softly, tucking a stray strand of Nathalie's hair behind her ear. "There is so much more to come." With a dismissive wave of my hand, I gestured for Henry to stop. Henry threw the blood-stained belt in the garbage can and took the cloth out of James' mouth.
James gasped for breath, his face beet red, several long, raw whip marks stretching across his back. Nathalie staggered to the wall, her hand clasping her mouth, horrified.
I let out a satisfied and victorious smile. "Nathalie, you can move into the extra bedroom attached to my room. It's perfect for you with the glass door and small space, don't you think? It can even be locked from the outside. Henry, take James away."
